I have been running Niri as a daily driver (work and private) for more than a year now. If you are into tiling window managers, you might want to give this one a try.
Also shoutout to DMS which is a awesome companion to that https://github.com/AvengeMedia/DankMaterialShell

Hat eine Weile gedauert alles einzurichten, daß es passt, aber hat sich gelohnt: auf meinem Heimrechner läuft nun #mangowc
Sehr gail! Nicht nur daß man ein "richtiges" scratchpad hat und für jeden tag ein eigenes Layout zuweisen kann, auch kommt es besser mit java Anwendungen klar. #niri hat hier Probleme:

#quickshell Umgebung #dankmaterialshell ist hier sehr dankbar. Nimmt einem viel "Gegurke" ab, da #dms sehr viele Funktionen bietet. Bei #waybar benötigt man zusätzliche Software/configs. -

Finally find the door to #Wayland thanks to #niri. If #bspwm was the perfect tiling WM for me in X11, niri is just as good while expanding the work space possibilities.
I'm so grateful that some devs eventually built a strong, reliable, fully featured tiling WM for Wayland. I may even write a post about it. That means a lot 😂 -

Demnächst mal wieder mein Test-Laptop anwerfen und ausprobieren.
#remmina habe ich kürzlich zum Laufen bekommen und wenn nun workspaces angezeigt werden kann ich im Homeoffice von #kde auf niri umsteigen. -

I'm really looking forward to more animations, but wow they sure do need a lot of care to get right in all the edge cases.
Also, I added a way to programmatically invoke compositor actions, and turns out that's quite useful for making video demos!

It started with scrollable tiling (first PaperWM, then Niri), now it continues with my daily runs of Death by Scrolling. If it continues like this I will end up creating a Loops account for myself😏.

Et oui, je crois bien que #PaperWM a résolu élégamment le problème de la gestion des fenêtres. Ça me semble à la fois plus intuitif que les bureaux classiques et plus efficace que les bureaux en mosaïque. Perso j’utilise #niri et je suis totalement conquis, après 20 ans d’utilisation de tiling (wmii, i3, sway…). -
@SillobreMVC J’utilise des bureaux pilotables au clavier mais oui, dans le registre des bureaux souris, Gnome a le bon ratio ergonomie/intuitivité : il y a un petit effort d’adaptation à faire quand on vient de Windows, mais le résultat est bien plus efficace.
Si jamais tu veux expérimenter l’étape d’après en ergonomie, #PaperWM est une dinguerie. J’utilise un bureau (#Niri) qui repose sur ce même principe.

The world works in mysterious ways. One time I'm in a really deep rut, then without me realizing it, I'm suddenly out of it, only to fall into another one. It's a really up-and-down cycle, and I don't know if I'd be happy about it.
So I had been DM-hopping for weeks just because I was looking for a tiling window manager that doesn't require an arm and a leg to set up -- #hyprland, #niri, #qtile, #sway -- I tried #cosmic desktop and kept it on tiling mode too. Each one took too long to set up!
