While I'm announcing GNU/Linux-related good news, the latest version of the Trisquel distro was released this month, and ...
"Both GNU IceCat and ungoogled-chromium are now available in Ecne, joining our continuously maintained Abrowser, giving users a range of fully free web browsing choices."

The maintainer of icecat was diagnosed with lung cancer. Icecat is a really cool browser project that really cares about protecting privacy and giving back control to the users. It served as an inspiration for me and many other people <3
Edit: This isn't the maintainer of IceCat, it's an unofficial binary distribution.

Maybe #Waterfox, #ZenBrowser, #TORBrowser, #PaleMoon, #IceCat & #LibreWolf should come together and form a new organization to fork and maintain a separate version #Gecko engine.
Perhaps even make a goal to transition from Gecko to the #Servo engine, creating a path for other Gecko based browsers to also follow suit.
There needs to be repercussions. There needs to be blowback. There needs to be culpability.
And no, everyone using Blink is not a good solution - at all.

@RABid @nixCraft as of right now, #Waterfox, #Zen, #Icecat, #Floorp, and #LibreWolf are all #LLM nonsense free. LibreWolf and IceCat are more or less guaranteed to stay that way because of the nature of the projects. Waterfox has made general rumblings about being anti AI, but haven't made a definitive response to #Firefox turning evil(er?), but I expect them to remain LLM free.
Floorp, and Zen are harder to predict, since those projects seem to be more UX focused than anything else, but as of right now, they're LMM free AFAIK.
On the #Chromium derivative side of things, #Vivaldi seems strongly anti LLM, #UngoogledChromium can probably be counted on, and… that's kinda it. Maybe #Brave. I'm sure there are others, or will be, but it's hard to call and starting from a Google code base isn't promising.
If you're on Linux/BSD, you can try Gnome Web (Epiphany) or Falkon; they might suit your needs. Palemoon might also work for you.
If you're on Windows or Mac, you've got bigger LLM problems than your browser.

Firefox ESR changed something and now when I try to go further down in doing a search, it loops around instead of cycling through my other search providers... this is INCREDIBLY frustrating as it completely changes my workflow.

https://icecatbrowser.org/index.html #Icecat respects the Users:
No spyware
No Phone-home
No Mass-surveillanceIt’s not just about ADS, there is more.
By using Icecat, we can change this consolidated behavior by making the data unavailable for collection; resulting in companies pivoting their research and funds towards something more elevated, like actually improve their products.
We do not collect data, or logs to improve "your experience" ^^. If you think there is something to improve, just let us know.
