This fella's name is Boof, which certainly appeared to be an aptonym. I think this is probably one of my favourite dog names as it conveys a strong sense of personality which, in this case, the bearer was more than happy to lean into.
I got quite a few photos of this pup and not one of them was bad. Always showing off those bright eyes, pricked ears and flashing a smile, he hadn't allowed his tripedal configuration to slow him down; on the contrary, the 25% weight saving seems to have boosted his vigour. Which is lucky, because if there is one thing a Kelpie needs, it's more energy...

Aujourd'hui, je poste le verso de la photo publiée hier ici même. C'est donc tourné vers le village de Sauve que j'ai capturé, le lendemain, ce portrait du Vidourle sous ce ciel encore bien chargé.

Ce lundi matin, le ciel était bien chargé. Le site de météo-france n'indiquait pas de pluie dans l'heure à venir, mais à la moitié de mon trajet tombait un petit crachin, puis une pluie très légère, ce qui n'aura pas terni mon trajet. La température est anormalement douce et je n'ai ni besoin de gants, ni de cache-nez. J'ai posé le vélo quelques secondes sur le vieux pont de Sauve pour prendre ce cliché.

À quelques encablures du village de Sauve (Gard), que l'on perçoit d'ailleurs à peine au loin. Le Vidourle s'étend confortablement dans son lit en ce petit matin d'hiver météorologique (qui a débuté, je lis ça à l'instant, le 1er décembre). Petite baisse des températures ces derniers jours, ce mercredi matin la maison est plus fraîche.

Ce lundi, le village de Sauve au petit matin. Ambiance grisâtre et humide, mais pas de pluie sur le trajet à vélo. On n'a pas mis en route le chauffage, mais l'humidité s'installe dans les maisons.

Le village de Sauve au petit matin, depuis son vieux pont. La chaleur annoncée ces prochains jours ne va rien arranger concernant la prolifération des algues en surface du Vidourle.

L'ancienne voie de chemin de fer (définitivement fermée à la fin des années 90) est désormais une belle piste cyclable. Pour l'heure, elle relie déjà Quissac - Sauve - Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort - Ganges - Sumène. Le matin, je suis très souvent seul à emprunter ma section. Certaines portions valent le détour, surtout lorsqu'elles cheminent loin de la route.
En bonus, je vous livre une partie de ce que j'ai entendu en rejoignant le Vidourle. Les oiseaux fêtaient le retour du soleil et j'ai trouvé que ce bout de son (30s) exprimerait mieux l'ambiance qu'une simple photo.

Sounds a bit familiar indeed. :)I remember using my brother's work laptop while he was on vacation, and a long phone cable that ran all the way up to my room, that I had to plug in downstairs in the meter cabinet when I wanted to go online. At times quietly so my parents wouldn't notice.
Usually that involved writing e-mails beforehand and having them waiting in the outbox, and having several forum windows (or was I already using Opera with tabs by then?) open with replies waiting to be sent, and images waiting to be uploaded to #Renderosity.
#CableInternet and #ADSL were becoming more commonplace at that time, but living in a #polder for a long time meant that ISPs said they couldn't offer us anything else but dialup.
(And several years later as internet speeds improved, it meant that ISPs suddenly claimed they could no longer offer ADSL there because they could no longer guarantee the minimum speeds... and thus going from unmetered 1mbit/256kbps ADSL to overpriced and metered 4G connexions. Glad I moved away from that to fibre optics here in Norway now ;))

I'm not allowed to comment on driving the #Polestar4 in Spain but I CAN comment on Spanish roads: they're BRILLIANT.
Deliciously smooth slices of mountain tarmac just BEGGING to be driven with vigour.
The only problem? The speed limits on these corners are 30 km/h (19 mph!)😭
I felt like I was in 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘺 on those curves. -
Sur quelques centaines de mètres, la voie verte (ex. voie ferrée) surplombe la départementale. On peut donc poser le vélo quelques secondes pour admirer le massif de Coutach, au loin dans la douce lumière du soleil levant. Autour de 7h30, ces derniers jours, la lumière du petit matin donne cette agréable teinte rougeâtre.
Même comme j'ai toujours une pensée pour le Vidourle, je peux vous divulguer qu'il se cache derrière la dernière rangée d'arbres que l'on perçoit côté droit de l'image, la rangée un peu plus claire au pied du massif.
