Take out #religion , and mentions of "God" from the currency.
An #Atheist is an adult who can make up their own mind.
They don't need your ego's reduced image of God thrust upon them by government.
This is not a childish capture-the-flag game to play with the people's currency.
In a Democracy we let others do their thing, not kowtow to our godfather.
Believe what you like. Don't impose it on others.
God does not need you to take out a commercial.

@tomcapuder this post made me think I time traveled back to #reddit circa 2012.

This is silly, none of the major #religious institutions support extremist groups. The world is not black and white and you cannot make grandious sleeping statements like that without substantial evidence. All of those groups have ahistorical views that cherry pick what they like from their myth and history and ignore the rest.

Also, i don't know any #theist who says we should respect and allow every religious belief, this is a #strawman.

Interesting… I’m skeptical of my own emotions, biases, and thoughts, so I always make sure to check to make sure my opinions have a factual basis. A historical counter-example is Stalin. Stalin was an atheist, for example. He had a high murder count. Stalin became an atheist and promoted atheism during his rule in the Soviet Union. In terms of raw numbers, estimates suggest that the death toll under Stalin’s rule was higher than the number of deaths attributed to the Spanish Inquisition.

So, while I am biased and would say, based on my experience, theists and religious people are more ‘depraved,’ history shows that people like Stalin were more depraved and murdered more people than the zealots of the Spanish Inquisition. I don’t go by my emotions, trust, or faith on these matters. I am not asserting there is any strong correlation between morality and theism or atheism at all. I’m asserting that people with dark personalities—narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy—who have not undergone psychiatric treatment, will be shitty people regardless.

While I am human and have my biases, I believe in minimizing those biases, which can be done with education and critical thinking. As an atheist, I am biased, so it is important to mitigate those biases. While I am an atheist, my husband is an animist, albeit he isn’t religious. Pluralism is a feature of a moral secular society. The opposite of pluralism is fascism, and atheists can be fascist too. Well, technically, the opposite of pluralism is totalitarianism. However, fascism is a form of totalitarianism. Fascism in America has more faces than Christofascism. A moral and secular society should aim to be diverse, which also includes diversity of religious thought.

I am, and have always been (or at least from the time I can remember) an #atheist. I informed my mother when I was about 6 years old that I didn't believe in god (she responded "That's nice, but you still need to get ready for mass"). My 11 year old on the other hand seems to have been almost born a #theist. From the time we met him at age 4, he has been fascinated by religion and spirituality. His only real exposure to religion is Judaism at our local JCC. (1/3)
