Mir scheint als Religions- und Politikwissenschaftler wichtig zu verstehen: Sowohl religiöse wie politische Traditionen werden vor allem mimetisch weitergegeben!

Die Anzahl der Menschen, die sich wirklich in die Heiligen Schrift oder ins Grundgesetz vertieft wird immer klein bleiben gegenüber den Mehrheiten, die „pragmatisch mitlaufen“.

Die Übernahme von bislang erfolgreichen Zielen war in der biokulturellen Evolution des Menschen über Jahrmillionen erfolgreich, die Alphabetisierung ist nicht mal fünftausend Jahre alt!

Wir Intensiv-Lesenden dürfen nicht einfach unsere seltene Haltung verallgemeinern: Menschen sind stärker mimetisch und rationalisieren dies erst auf Nachfrage.

@drmorrisj i like the people behind yacy i guess - they do have a nice user base, p2p index sharing and all these other things brought to the table; for business i think people want value with a bit of necessary sass and legacy mixed in. i have some clue as how to execute good consulting and outreach and mkt for yacy but for stuff like ansible i am a bit wonky; debian is now committing to reproducible builds as a side note.

a long winded way of saying to myself get some agency and ship something like this and then branch out and get other projects going - some biz may just want to have somebody help them with domain, email, vps and lamp setup, yacy is awesome but a little bit of a corner case #rational clearcase #linecard

So, how do you take on the unique times in which we find ourselves?

How do you carefully take on what is still, weirdly, a significant future trend that could, to some, be controversial? Carefully! How do you approach a delicate topic with appropriate delicacy at a time when delicacy is demanded? With delicacy!

A time in which science is fake, reality is false, and falsehoods are reality?
Well, you simply acknowledge that 'the future is now, well, just weird.'

That's how I took on the topic the other day, introducing an entirely new section to my slide deck in an energy keynote in Tucson.

So with that intro, I spoke to the audience about a topic I wrote about here a few weeks ago - the arrival of what I call "confident stupidity."

I then shared this screenshot with the audience, as an example of where we find ourselves today. Given that I was speaking to an energy/utility conference, my example had to do with that industry. This is but one of countless numbers of irrational things I see online.
