I had #hernia repair with #mesh in 1994 that caused severe immune rejection, pain and fainting for decades. Because the mesh did not degrade as planned, but became brittle, it caused nerve damage over time and had to be removed. It was a long journey but the surgery (5 days ago) went well. I am recovering. It's like a new beginning for me. I am super pumped about it. 🥳

Today is the 31st day of my #coconutwater fast. 😅️🫣️ I intend to continue for up to 60 days and hope to finally make some #progress with my #hernia. 😇️

I am on day 19 of a #coconutwater #fast and feel strong and calm. I intend to heal my #hernia this time by keeping my bowels as empty as possible and continue on liquids for as long as it takes my body to #heal. 😇

@MSicc Not to scare you, but I had an inguinal #hernia repaired using the Open technique, not using Arthroscopy. The procedure was done by a General Surgeon that has done hundreds of these. I'm now dealing with chronic nerve pain as a result.

After the surgery, I visited an actual expert in Hernia Surgery and he said that there is a 30-40% chance of this type of pain outcome using Open Surgery, Using Arthroscopy - 3%.

I wish I had known this before my surgery, so passing it along.

I was finally able to meet with a surgeon today. I'm hopeful that I can reduce my 3 hernias to 0 next month. Looking back, that "Buy 1 hernia, get 2 more free" Groupon was NOT a great deal.
