  1. Thank you all for this really interesting feedback!
What I'm getting so far is:

    1. only sitting or only standing is not great for most people
    2. taking more walking breaks & doing more exercise is the easiest, cheapest way to get the benefits of a standing desk
    3. typing, reading might be difficult while in standing position, but doing online meetings is fine
    4. there are cheap ways to convert a normal desk in standing desk
    5. in any case, one should definitely get an adjustable standing desk
    6. with the standing desk, having a soft mat or a treadmill is important

This made me less likely to get a standing desk for myself, especially because I'm mostly doing writing / reading / coding and point 3) says that I might not be able to do this while standing 😬 So here's a poll specifically about this!

While standing / walking at your (adjustable) standing desk, do you find it:
(multiple choices possible, and this is just for working on a computer, sorry)

  6. Have you ever tried to use a #StandingDesk for work (whether working from home or in the office), if so would you recommend it?

Since I'm spending about 23/24h sitting (or sleeping) these days, I wonder if I should give it a go.. Please tell me what you think!

  11. I started Covid working online and attending classes on a 6-foot plastic folding table. 6 years and a Master’s degree later I finally get to retire the plastic, setting up my dream #homeoffice studio. Just in time for Spring telehealth therapy, coaching, and consulting. 🙏🌈🚀 #standingdesk

  22. The eternal struggle: sit or stand? CNET's latest lists the top standing desks of 2025. For all you coders, is a standing desk a must-have for productivity or just a fancy way to pace while debugging?

  23. The 'Best Standing Desks of 2025' list just dropped. Let's be real, is it saving your spine or just giving you another reason to adjust things mid-sprint? What's your desk setup philosophy for maximum coding comfort (or minimal pain)?

  24. Yet another dreaded #FullyJarvis (IIRC they got sold and no longer called that though) #StandingDesk #Error08

The controller was always on (should turn off/sleep after a couple of seconds) so that I've tried lowering to the lowest position and boom Error 08. The default reset did not work as it was still giving Error after reset (keep pressing the down button until lowest and keep pressing more to see the "Reset"). I've raised one leg while pressing Reset and then worked.

  27. Breaking news: my chiropractor just sent me this CNET article on 'Best Standing Desks of 2025.' Coincidence? I think not.

Are standing desks *actually* saving our spines, or just giving us another way to fidget during stand-ups? Asking for a friend (my lower back).

  44. Quite a productive day off. I built a desk and tried my hardest to cable manage it all.
I'm enjoying the extra space and look forward to standing more often.

Building the desk was the easy part for sure 😅
