Ah yes, the groundbreaking #revelation that not everyone needs to work 🤯. Who knew that #economics wasn't just about turning humans into 24/7 #productivity robots? Next week: why not everyone needs to breathe air to survive 🌬️.

You might work for a toxic company if: you're battling insomnia and their response is a Performance Improvement Plan.
Not a check in. Not "hey, are you doing okay?" People go through things. Sleep, health, family, all of it. A decent company notices and gives you a little room. A toxic one sees a dip in output and reaches for the folder.
How a company treats you on your worst week tells you everything about whether it's a good one.

You might work for a toxic company if leadership pushes out 11 press releases in 12 weeks and calls it momentum.
The people doing the work have another word for it. It usually shows up around week nine, somewhere between the late nights and the quiet updating of resumes.
Volume is not a strategy. Grinding down your team to hit a release cadence nobody outside the building even noticed is not a win.
Momentum you can't sustain is just a countdown.

My heart is so sad this morning.
I woke up to a text from my asst mgr at work that she has been transferred.
Ok.. Im an older guy and shes in her early 20s. We have this dad/friend relationship. Nothing we cant talk about, nothing I wouldnt do for her. She holds a special place in my heart and now shes gone.
Yes, the world will go on..
Just.. sad. -

One of the hardest and exhausting things for me having ADHD is getting back up to speed and in the daily routine again after vacation.
Don’t know if it’s the same for non-ADHD ppl.

Some clients don't talk or make requests.
They just throw sentences on a table and hope in a wave function collapse that could give them a semblance of sense.

Bring Your Best Self To Work makes the case for working without a secret identity: what hiding costs, what showing up whole risks, and why the trade is worth it. The subtitle does the arguing: No Secret Identity Required. https://www.chadtdyar.com/books

Working under a micromanager is exhausting, but there are ways to push back without it turning into a fight: Over-communicate before they have to ask. Send the status update before they request it. Document decisions in writing so there's no ambiguity to fill.
Most micromanaging comes from anxiety, not malice. Remove the uncertainty and a lot of the hovering goes with it. -
🚀✨ Behold the AI mirage, where unattended work morphs into a perpetual task beast demanding more attention than a toddler on a sugar high. The magical demo? A delightful sleight of hand, leaving you with the realization that 'automation' is code for new headaches. 😂🔧
