UHK deep dive: split, remap, layer until muscle memory shuts up. Trackpoint, trackball or touchpad module, riser, wooden palm rest, switch swaps—everything changes except your intent. It just becomes your setup. #UHK #ergonomics #workflow

Split vs non-split keyboards: once you notice the difference, you can’t un-notice it.
Split feels like your hands finally stopped crowding each other. Non-split feels like muscle memory never got interrupted. Both have their charm — and their stubborn fans.
We basically thought: why choose? Switch between layouts depending on how serious your typing day is. 💡

Still looking for a split keyboard design. I've got the R-Go split keyboard now and it's nice enough,, but I have a whole bunch of double keystrokes. That makes the keyboard unusable for me. R-Go Tools sent me a replacement keyboard for free, which was very nice. But the replacement keyboard has the same problem (it's actually worse with the replacement.)
Soooo... who has good experiences with a split keyboard design?

Most people think typing-related discomfort starts and ends with the wrists.
Not quite.
The way you type affects your shoulders, neck, back, and overall posture, too. A poor setup can turn a small wrist strain into a full-body problem. 🤔
Good ergonomics isn't just about your hands—it's about keeping your entire body comfortable and aligned throughout the day.
Your wrists may do the typing, but your whole body pays the bill. 💡

Some like just enough. Others prefer “while we’re at it…”
UHK 60 for the minimalists: compact, clean, and focused. No distractions, just the essentials right where you need them.
UHK 80 for those who believe there’s no such thing as too many features: modules, layers, macros, and all the customization your inner keyboard nerd could ask for.
Different setups. Same obsession: making every keystroke count. 😏
Which side are you on?

🧩 Mix and Match: Create a Keyboard That Fits You
No two workflows are the same, so why settle for a one-size-fits-all keyboard? Customize your setup with modules and layouts that match the way you work, game, and create.
What would your perfect setup look like?

I'm looking for an ergonomic keyboard without a keypad (my mouse is way too far now), like the Incase sculpt. But that thing isn't available anywhere any longer, god knows why. Any tips on a replacement? Not the HP960, I like my keyboards working after a year and HP has delivered subpar shite once too often for me.

I found a new in box ProtoArc EM01 NL for $20. I am going to try using a trackball.
Send help. Or a wrist brace.
Probably both...

People who use dual monitor and have one on portrait setting - do you not often find that you are not looking at either the top or the bottom part of the screen?
What is a vertical set up good for?
(even with text editing I find myself prefer opening the same document side by side to compare instead of tilting up and down) -
How Much Time Can a Better Keyboard Save You?
Most people measure productivity in hours.
The real gains are often hidden in seconds.
Seconds spent reaching for a mouse.
Seconds spent repeating the same actions.
Seconds lost to unnecessary movement.Individually, they seem insignificant.
Together, they can make a remarkable difference.
⌨️ How many of those seconds could you get back?

Nosing is part of a tread (horizontal part) of a stair projecting past the vertical riser. It's helpful for people going down stairs on hands because it allows for one hand on the handrail and the other around the nosing. Being able to wrap the fingers around the end of the tread improves traction.

Most people will never truly know the struggle of being a left-handed person trying to use a dollar store can opener.

From Basic Setup to Ultimate Setup 🚀
We've all been there: a simple desk, a basic keyboard, and a workflow that got the job done. Then came the upgrades.
→ A split keyboard for better ergonomics
→ A custom keymap for faster workflows
→ A pointing device within reach
→ A cleaner, more organized workspaceWhat's the one change that took your setup to the next level? Let us know below. 👇

Switching to a split keyboard isn’t instant for most people.
But when it does click… it really clicks, and there's no going back. ⌨️✨
What was your experience like? Was it instant comfort or a slow transition?

Oh, sure, because we all know that the world just can't get enough of yet another "should you switch from #Go to Rust" #debate. 😒 Let's dive deep into the riveting saga of #trade-offs and "ergonomics" (yawn) for #backend developers who have nothing better to do than choose between two perfectly adequate languages. 🎉 Clearly, the excitement is palpable. 🙄

How much does your setup affect your performance? ⚙️
Custom keyboards show how small changes matter:
⌨️ split layout = better posture
🖱️ built-in pointing = less mouse use
🪵 customization = personal feelWhen your setup works with you, everything gets easier. 🚀

🤦♂️ Ah yes, the PSP: the nostalgia-fueled brick that everyone suddenly needs in 2026, because apparently, we all collectively forgot how #ergonomics work. 🎮🔄 Let's just pretend the past 20 years of #gaming #innovation never happened and embrace those #UMDs like it's 2005. 🙃

I knew I was in a minority, but I hadn't realised it was such a small one. I sometimes feel slightly ill with a lot of screens open; I want one small screen with one app at a time maximised, and lots of soothing, empty desk space around my laptop.
I guess my desk is more like a furniture commercial or stock photo than most people's actual experience: a glowing jungle of cables and screens, all screaming for their attention at the same time.
p.s. Yes, I do software development and web-site design that way.

Typing shouldn’t hurt. Fix your posture in 3 steps: align your upper body (straight back, relaxed shoulders, elbows ~90°, neutral wrists), adjust your keyboard angle with feet/riser and split it to shoulder width, and keep your screen eye-level with feet supported.
Better posture, better days. 🙌
