Ha, I had purchased a giant box of brake noodle doohickies for a prior bike restoration, because you can't just buy one. Replaced rusty one and put those rubber brake cover doohikies on. #BikeRepair #Cannondale #BikeTooter

Old shifters replaced last night in the dark with new ones. I had tried the Microshift ones on another bike and they were fine. The old ones really showing age and significant plastic damage. Can always upgrade the shifters later, just want to get the bike operational first. I don't know of the Shimano are any better build quality for twist shifters... needs new grips, too, these are rotting. #BikeRepair #BikeTooter #Cannondale

Waxed now, looking very, very clean. Might even be able to remove more marks, which look to be just plastic rubber off shift housing. Main blocking item is the derailleur hangar. #BikeRepair #BikeTooter #Cannondale

@ale Ole, yo empecé con #bicicletas heredadas de #decathlon. Cuando ya estaban para piezas, cogí una #Conor española de unos 350 napos y rueda 27,5". Como quería otra para amig@s y recambio si estaba en taller encontré chollo de #Cannondale 29" y freno hidráulico por 380 euros.
Muy contento, la Conor me cabe en el maletero perfecta quitando la rueda delantera y para caminos chungos maniobra mejor. Para salidas más largas, la rueda de 29 va genial, más recorrido por pedalada 😍

I spent 3h helping a friend buy her first modern bike, a #GravelBike. As a runner who’s prone to injuries, she was looking for a good alternative. She only had a vague idea and zero knowledge about bikes. I predicted a steep learning curve and advised her to get one that could grow with her. At first, she wanted a cheap bike in red. But I was able to persuade her to go for a better bike: “You need to shine, not the bike. And black goes with more outfits.”

Eigentlich für den Smarttrainer gekauft muss bei diesem Wetter (5°C, Sturmböen, strahlender Sonnenschein) natürlich draußen probegefahren werden. Und das Ding macht echt Spaß, trotz extrem dünner Reifen und 6,5 bar 😎

Soweit eingestellt, Stunde geradelt - keine Schmerzen im unteren Rücken, kein unangenehmes Gefühl in dem Knien uuuuund nicht mal taube Handpartien bekommen. Hier und da noch etwas fine tuning...
Jetzt ist es ein #Cannondale Topstone Carbon 3 geworden, mit "klassischer" GRX Gruppe von Shimano. Ganz ohne Funk und Elektro Schnickschnack.... -

After the traumatic experience with the faulty carbon frame of my shiny new fancy #Cannondale Scalpel #MTB, assuming I can negotiate a return and refund under warranty, thinking of what’s next.
Learned the hard way that a bike for which a bottom bracket costs more than what my 20+ year old hardtail is worth only makes cycling marginally more fun (maybe 20% more fun).
In exchange for that, parts and maintenance is a lot more expensive and in large parts beyond my DIY abilities.

If I do get a refund, I will definitely not get another #Cannondale, BB30 press fit bottom brackets are a madness, the internet is full of people complaining about noise, and on top of that their are hard to repair at home.
Does any manufacturer ship carbon MTB frames with repairable (preferably threaded) bottom brackets?

So the bottom bracket of the new #Cannondale MTB I bought last summer failed again after a few hundred kms, making a very annoying clicking/cracking noise. At this point I suspect a manufacturing failure in the frame. Very disappointing, currently figuring out what the my options under warranty are. At this point I wish I could return the bike and get a full refund...
