Thousands of miles over gravel, dirt, construction debris, sharp rocks, broken glass, chunks of cholla, and running tubeless has saved my ass (and this particular set of tires) from flatting out the whole time. One single non-native exotic goathead while loading the bike back into the car in the parking lot and the entire system breaks down completely. Had to top off with last remaining 4 oz of sealant and it's as good as new again (except for the part where it's overdue for replacement and is weeping and a ticking time bomb now). Praise be to tubeless, regardless.

15K Run 🏃🏻♂️ && 34K MTB Ride
Ok so the usual morning run at the lake - and then an MTB ride with my son. But aehm I may have pushed it a bit too far regarding the MTB ride with him (for sure it was above his limit … and for sure not super fun for this exact reason). I think I have become a very bad judge of others fitness limits … my perception of “easy” or “medium” is useless 😬🙃.

In what is becoming a yearly thing for me, near the soltice, I rode the Capital Trail overnight on Friday. Humid and misty a lot of the way. Fell asleep for an hour in a field. Forgot how much hike-a-bike was involved, especially as bits are overgrown. Good fun though! #mountainbiking

Forgot to write an update on the third day of my little #BikePacking trip. The sleep in the Jasenová hut was good, the descent from Pol'ana quite good (better roads on this side, also more logging), the dip in the river awesome, the asphalt road leading to the ski resort almost empty late afternoon (started from Bystrá at 4pm), the offroad climb brutal, the views from the summit stunning. Had to push about 30% on the part after Kosodrevina.

A couple of #mosstodon shots from yesterday’s hike at Lord Hill Regional Park north of #seattle - lots of trails to get lost on there. Probably better for #horsebackRiding or #mountainBiking than walking but was a nice new place to see.

I set the alarm to 6am and we started at 7am. My wife cycled a small morning loop (like 45min) and I did a bit larger loop to test the 30 tooth Sprocket on longer climbs.
*Learnings today:*
- mosquitos can be a real motivator to push harder
- the sprocket feels good
- the #garmin incident detection works
- 1st aid kit is a good investment
- good medical coverage in the mountains! First person I met after my incident was a nurse! 😉 -
