Are muscle powered mountain bikes dead? I’ve spent 10 days riding through mountains of Slovenia and Italy, and I’ve seen maybe 20 MTBs and thousands of eMTBs. I get that riding up a mountain when you only do this once a year on your vacation is extremely challenging, but what happened to the people who do this as sport? (And no, I’ve not seen that many gravel bikes doing offroad. Almost none in fact. Also not talking about bike parks.)

Homie claims he's not here to do illegal dumping. He's already forked off onto what is technically BLM dirt bike tracks with a truckload of landscaping debris. Typical M.O. right here, at the threshold between rural and wilderness lands. I just happened to have been there at the moment, checking out conditions. We almost got into it. He said he was looking for the nursery. Maybe. Maybe don't fit the M.O. around my trails ever. I have close-ups and can report him if I find his bullshit around some other bend.

Nice weather for a local ride on Sunday. Explored a new path which was a head height bracken trap that took ages to fight along. 'leap frogged' several times with a runner who got up the hills much faster than me. Was ridiculous 😆. Fun descent off the big hill on way back #mountainbiking

15K Run 🏃🏻♂️ && 34K MTB Ride
Ok so the usual morning run at the lake - and then an MTB ride with my son. But aehm I may have pushed it a bit too far regarding the MTB ride with him (for sure it was above his limit … and for sure not super fun for this exact reason). I think I have become a very bad judge of others fitness limits … my perception of “easy” or “medium” is useless 😬🙃.

In what is becoming a yearly thing for me, near the soltice, I rode the Capital Trail overnight on Friday. Humid and misty a lot of the way. Fell asleep for an hour in a field. Forgot how much hike-a-bike was involved, especially as bits are overgrown. Good fun though! #mountainbiking

cycling".Now the entire ski resort seems to be in the territory of the national park, but the offroad section start like this (see barrier mid-left).
