"The Bill did not pass second reading. This means that it will not progress any further. I recognise that this will be of significant disappointment to some, and relief to others.
"What is vital now is that the focus on terminal illness and end of life care does not stop because this Bill has fallen. The debate surrounding this Bill has shone a light on the harrowing circumstances that many terminally ill people face. I have always been clear that regardless of what happens with this Bill, drastic improvements and substantial funding must be provided to palliative care. The government must act on this area. ...
"It is important to consider the impact of this legislation within the context of a highly unequal society, where so many people live in extreme poverty, face huge amounts of discrimination, abuse and violence, and cannot access the healthcare and social care they deserve after years of cuts and underfunding. It must be recognised that this will have an impact on the choices that people make and their vulnerability to coercion and pressure."

Delivery firms may soon be liable for unsafe gig economy vehicles.
A legal text change due to come in on October 1st will make it much harder for delivery businesses to enable undocumented workers on their apps, and with that comes knock on effects for vehicle liabilities.

Concerning the legalisation of #pluginsolar in the UK, there is one question open (for us) and maybe there is a #lawyer here who can answer it:
The UK "legalized" #pluginpv but didn't change any law concerning the right of #tenants to use it. The guidance simply says "ask your #landlordโ.
Is the use of pluginsolar now subject to the whims of the landlord or does UK law give the tenant a right to install it, as its a generally legal and regulated technical device?

I think it's possible that the people behind proscribing Palestine Action might have underestimated the effects of how unsettling this all is for middle-class people who basically trusted "the system" before.
I wonder did they _want_ that effect for some reason, and it's going to be the excuse for something worse later on, or are they just not very clever?
An article from a while back talked about how much the police don't like it either. Some of them joined thinking that their job was to catch villains and protect "the public", and they _hated_ being sent to arrest old people who reminded them of their grandads and grandmas, for sitting around in a friendly way doing basically nothing. The disillusion was bad for morale.
I said before, I think it's "bringing the law into disrepute".
