Kann mir mal jemand plausibel erklären, warum nicht mehr Leute mit Rennrad oder Gravelbike nach Norwegen fahren?
Was es hier an Landschaft, klarer Luft, wenig befahrenen Straßen, traumhaften Anstiegen und atemberaubenden Aussichten gibt kann man in einem Biker Leben gar nicht alles auskosten.

Ran my first errand on the ebike today, a short trip to the bank, which is much closer to us now. Took a nice ride through the park afterwards, too. 🚲

Bike lanes are great, when they exist at all, but more business districts should prioritize areas for parking bikes if they're serious about encouraging more bike riding.

Really noticing how little thought is given to secure parking for bikes anywhere; I have three different locks and I'm still not comfortable locking up on the street!

Day 5 cont. While getting chips in Fort Augustus, chatted to a mountain biking guy who been biking nearby. Talked about bikes for a while and then he insisted I take one of his spare voile straps which made saddle bag much more stable. Thanks mountain bike guy!! Said he had been one of the first to ride tour divide single speed! #bikepacking #biking

on today's ride I went to check the status of my favorite trails, they required a little of maintenance, and also all the terrain was full of mud and it was considerably more dangerous to go down but at the same time more fun, my basic bicycle demands more focus and technique... the only boring part was to clean all the stuck dirt.... 😃🚲💦⛰️

Day 5 - Thurso to Edinburgh. My favourite section but very hard. Went through whole Glen Affric, to Morvich on the west coast. Never been all the way through before. Some crazy, sometimes boggy, paths but very beautiful. Pretty tired by the end but still had 30k road section. Slightly worried about broken saddle wobble. #bikepacking #scotland #biking

OH RIGHT

Someone marked out some bike lane revisions on the diagonal chunk of NE 54th that becomes NE 55th between Ravenna Avenue and some point east at least past Ravenna Place, and it also looked like they marked some sort of bike stub lane or turn lane on Ravenna Place itself.

There are already bike lanes there so I don't know what's up except maybe upgraded markings? Or maybe they're going to buffer them some? I haven't seen anything about it until I literally biked by it today so

Day 4 of Thurso-Edinburgh. Nice night at the bothy. Midge crazy in the morning. Rode lots of trails I hadn't ridden before above Struy and past Ben Wyvis. Met an interesting botanist who had just found a rare bog orchid. Then disaster! Snapped a saddle rail, and shortly after the other side snapped. My fix was to slam the saddle forwards to clamp both sides of the broken rails. Then use zip ties to attach my saddle bag to the seat post. #bikepacking #scotland #biking

This is nice: it's the opposite of a bike/walk closure, it's a bike/walk path STAYS OPEN while a road is closed for car lane work.
