Felt down all day. Spouse pointed out we had a really good time with friends in my hometown and I'm homesick. I moved around so much I didn't think I could get homesick, but I lived there for 35 years. It's changed more in the past 5 years than the two decades before that.

Both my bicycles need to go into the shop. So checked out this Rushford Bike Share bicycle from the Rushford Public Library.

These aren't available from mid-October to April. Still nice to have it as an option.

Note: Bicycles with coaster brakes don't stop when you pull on the handlebars non-existent brakes.

Bicycled the Root River Trail from Rushford to Houston. Portion of the trail from Cushon's Peak to the Houston Nature Center is closed right now, so bicycled the wide shoulders on Highway 16. Going down was great, climbing back up not so much. Great day of weather, without severe winds. Only two trees down on the way.

Used the Rushford bicycle repair stand to work on my bicycle. The air pump works after not working last Summer or Fall. I think they replaced the whole unit.

Root River Trail is closed at top going from Rushford to Houston. Wide shoulders on detour will get you there. I didn't go on today, but will sometime in the future.

Another warmer day to bicycle yesterday. Used my main commuting and touring bicycle, went home for a break and switched back to studded tires in my backup bike since the trail was still covered but I wanted to go farther since it was melting.

Looks like the last time I'll be using my warning socks until around the Ides of March when it gets much colder again.

Took advantage of a much warmer day (15C!) to bicycle. Used my backup bike with studded tires for a while, went home for a short break, then switched to my main commuting and touring bicycle because the roads and the trail within the town boundaries were so clear. Just some ice and snow at the edges of the road and still a lot at the old railroad bridge.

Managed to miss the freezing rain.

My brother in the NorthEast part of the country got almost 2 meters of snow from the blizzard. His phone wasn't working right Sunday so I called again today. He's okay and exhausted from shoveling snow the past 2 days.
