Bicycled the Root River Trail from Rushford to Houston. Portion of the trail from Cushon's Peak to the Houston Nature Center is closed right now, so bicycled the wide shoulders on Highway 16. Going down was great, climbing back up not so much. Great day of weather, without severe winds. Only two trees down on the way.

Was going to bicycle longer, but restrooms on the Root River Trail aren't open yet and I was having stomach issues. Bicycled to Peterson and back to Rushford again.

25 PedalCyclists on the trail today. Only two electric. Heard one kid say, "Mom! It feels like Summer out here!"

Bar mitts came off Donna's bicycle handlebars yesterday. Saw a herd of very young deer last night, and a robin today.

No snow on the trails in Rushford today, so this may be my last studded tires day and time to bring Louise out for the Spring

Bicycled on the Root River Trail to Peterson and back from Rushford today. Much warmer. On the way there, one third walking. On the way back, so much ice and snow had melted I was able to bicycle the whole way.

Saturday should have most of the trail to Lanesboro melted.

Looking through my photos of last year, snow came down about the same time, but not near as much, and with much less damaging winds.

I saw them removing this pile of snow later in the day.

Bicycled the Root River Trail from Rushford to Lanesboro and back yesterday. 27 PedalCyclists, 2 electric, 2 recumbent.

Beautiful warm day so lots of people walking, too.

Another warmer day to bicycle yesterday. Used my main commuting and touring bicycle, went home for a break and switched back to studded tires in my backup bike since the trail was still covered but I wanted to go farther since it was melting.

Looks like the last time I'll be using my warning socks until around the Ides of March when it gets much colder again.

Took advantage of a much warmer day (15C!) to bicycle. Used my backup bike with studded tires for a while, went home for a short break, then switched to my main commuting and touring bicycle because the roads and the trail within the town boundaries were so clear. Just some ice and snow at the edges of the road and still a lot at the old railroad bridge.

Managed to miss the freezing rain.

My brother in the NorthEast part of the country got almost 2 meters of snow from the blizzard. His phone wasn't working right Sunday so I called again today. He's okay and exhausted from shoveling snow the past 2 days.
