Bicycled from Rushford to Peterson and back.

Got Louise back from Smith's bicycle shop in La Crosse, Wisconsin* with new Marathon tires. The old ones had green showing through that I kept missing, but the clerk and my wife saw it right away.

Did my bicycle ever need some work. It's like having a new bike!

20 bicyclists. 2 of these were a person definitely on a bicycle tour with their long haired kid.

18 electric bikes.

2 squirrels.

2 rattlesnakes. Just chilling on the trail.

And a LOT of birds.

Was going to bicycle longer, but restrooms on the Root River Trail aren't open yet and I was having stomach issues. Bicycled to Peterson and back to Rushford again.

25 PedalCyclists on the trail today. Only two electric. Heard one kid say, "Mom! It feels like Summer out here!"

Bicycled on the Root River Trail to Peterson and back from Rushford today. Much warmer. On the way there, one third walking. On the way back, so much ice and snow had melted I was able to bicycle the whole way.

2 dog walkers.

Saturday should have most of the trail to Lanesboro melted.

Felt so good to bicycle 18K yesterday in -7.77C that felt like -11C after a few days of too much cold and days of travel with the spouse.

Someone snowplowed the Root River Trail from the edge of Rushford to the edge of Peterson so I was able to get more distance. Got on the road for a stretch where snow was too deep.

Whalan Depot's last day for the season is tomorrow. Water fountain in the park in Whalan already turned off.

Lunch at Pedal Pushers Cafe which was the most crowded I'd ever seen it.

Walked around and found a pink door that led to an arcade with axe throwing, darts, and tabletop Galaga.

Bicycled from Rushford to Lanesboro today. Fallen trees had been removed so a good day, despite a little drizzle and a grey day.

28 bicyclists on the Root River Trail. 8 electric bicycles. 8 were mostly in the Lanesboro area.

Stopped at Tiger Trail Lefse in Peterson & got my favorite cool ranch flavor chips.

Good day to bicycle. Wasn't really feeling it until I hit about 4 kilometers in, then started to enjoy it.

Spring green definitely showing up.

Peterson bathrooms finally open.

Rushford Depot still under construction until they get enough donations to complete it, so no bathrooms there yet.

Bicycle repair stand by the Rushford Depot (still under renovations, so no restrooms) was uncovered a couple of days ago. So was the one in Peterson. Peterson restrooms were still locked a couple of days ago.

Pump hose had its head broken off, though, so hope that gets fixed.

When I got home, I made an apple pie. But in a rectangular pan.

Beautifully warm day so I bicycled 42 Kilometers on the Root River Trail from Rushford to Peterson to Whalan and back in Minnesota.

Bicycled 16K of the Root River Trail to Peterson and back to Rushford. Still sad Burdey's is closed permanently. The branches of this tree remind me of hands, like the scary trees in the "Wizard of Oz" movie.

First bicyclist I've seen on the trail today that seemed to be from somewhere else besides one of these numerous small towns.

Beautiful 11.66 C today so bicycled to Peterson, Minnesota, all of its downtown area, and back to to Rushford, Minnesota. This part of the Root River Trail was clear for now.
