Bicycled from Rushford to Peterson and back.

Got Louise back from Smith's bicycle shop in La Crosse, Wisconsin* with new Marathon tires. The old ones had green showing through that I kept missing, but the clerk and my wife saw it right away.

Did my bicycle ever need some work. It's like having a new bike!

Looked for but can't find the comment.

I often count how many people were tubing in the Root River while bicycling the Root River Trail.

One of the comments was that their goal was to have people playing tubas on tubes on the Root river.

I chose not to reply at that time.

Because my response was "I'd like to see you try" and realized in internet and flash mob culture -- someone could actually make that happen.

All it would take is one determined tuba player.

took advantage of a great summer day yesterday and rode the Root River and Preston-Harmony trails for a 60 mile loop between Fountain to the IA border. The rains have not been kind to the trails in general and the Preston-Harmony portion needs a lot of repair but it was still fun. Had most of trail to myself. Graveled the detour to get to Harmony for lunch at Estells's then did the new 6 mile portion south from Harmony to the IA border for the return trip #BikeTooter #MNastodon #RootRiverTrail

Yesterday morning started to bicycle the Root River Trail but my front shifter stopped working. Went back to the bicycle repair stand near Rushford Depot to work on it. Cable was working but wasn't shifting. Found out the cable and housing were broken, but not severed. Time for a full tune up, anyway.

I've seen things you wouldn't believe. A squirrel hopping like a bunny rabbit. A bunny rabbit running like a dog. A wild turkey looking both ways before it crossed the trail.

All of these lost in Winter, like tears in the ice and snow.

Bicycled the Root River Trail to Peterson and back late enough that it was sunset when I got back. Only one other bicyclist.

Rushford Village now has their port-a-potty set up by the trail.

The Rushford Depot was open for water and bathrooms this past Sunday from 10- 3.

Peterson bathrooms are open. Peterson Gnome is by the Peterson sign on the trail.

Whalan Depot is open.

Purple, and yellow flowers on the sides of the trail. Small white butterflies (or moths) all along the trail until it started drizzling rain.

Bicycled the Root River Trail from Rushford to Houston. Portion of the trail from Cushon's Peak to the Houston Nature Center is closed right now, so bicycled the wide shoulders on Highway 16. Going down was great, climbing back up not so much. Great day of weather, without severe winds. Only two trees down on the way.
