Yesterday we went to the Los Gatos Art & Wine Festival, held by the Kiwanis at the town civic center. It is a smaller event, with maybe a hundred artist, but it leans heavily into entertainment and drink. This event is also among the last for the year, and with summer over it was getting windy and cool.

There is no way I can livestream today. I have to cancel it.
My body is in healing mode after a 2-day vending event for North Country Fair. My voice is shot, my body aches, and it's all I can do to form cohesive thoughts.
Enjoy the musical stylings of the Samba Parade that happened on Sunday during the event. Peak Humboldt. I mean, Brazilian Samba in northern California, endeared by the populace so much they start practicing for it two months in advance?!? And dance around an entire town square?!? For an hour?!? For no reason but joy?!? Surreal. And deeply endearing. They pour their hearts into this. The smiles on their faces, the happiness of those watching it. This is community. And apparently this was the 42nd anniversary!!

Yesterday and today is the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival. It is held on downtown Castro Street by the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce. It is a fairly large event with a rocking music stage at the middle on the city hall plaza. The temps were mild but by afternoon it was very windy. If you go, avoid the California St public parking garage; you'll end up in a slowmotion conga line up to the roof level and back.

Yesterday we went to the 55th Annual Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. It was held on Broadway St by the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce. It was sunny but strong winds kept us cool. Pretty standard fare. My only complaint is Broadway is a fairly narrow street and crowds at some business were almost impassable. Lots of dogs.

If you were to ask me about a lesser-known festival, I know an art festival that happens every year downtown where I am.
The Peter Anderson Festival. On that day, you can come downtown and buy from local artists and whatnot.
I've bought stuff from those before. The stuff was game devs and artists selling perler bead sprites of video game characters and stuff.

This weekend was the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. The event took place downtown on a long stretch of University Avenue. The width and alignment of University ensured that everyone spent some time in the sun. 🥵
This was a large art venue but oddly did not have much entertainment. Most similar events are anchored around a large concert and dancing area with a loud rock band. This one just had a small stage on a sidestreet playing folk music.

And on Sunday we attended the Los Altos Fine Art In The Park. It was held by the Rotary Club at the very long but narrow Lincoln Park. The shade helped a lot as it was very hot. The items here pricey and bigger than at the average art and wine festival.

This weekend was the 42nd Fremont Festival of the Arts, centered around the Fremont city hall. Yesterday afternoon was very sunny and hot and we saw less people than last year. Several music stages and two long streets of art vendors and a kid zone. And of course an Eagles coverband playing Hotel California, as mandated by tradition.
