I attended the Mid-Peninsula #Indivisible chapter meeting today in Redwood City. It’s a gathering of such nice and dedicated people. Quite refreshing to see people working for good for a change.
I’m planning to attend various organizing events around the area, and maybe help out in some way or another. I need to make some community connections!

I have zero faith that the 19th Ave repavement project completed this morning will last beyond the next rainy season.
It’s such a shoddy job. the edges of the new pavement don’t reach the curbs or the medians. The parking lanes were left unpaved for some reason. The pavement is already indented in places. and btw, we still don’t have road markings or cross walks.
But good news, we didn’t inconvenience drivers! Remember this last part when you see politicians celebrating this fast completion of a project they completely mismanaged and paid for with your money.

I recently heard that there is a wildflower that lives in a small preserve north of San Francisco, and nowhere else in the world, and also heard that it is blooming right now. It is the Tiburon mariposa lily (Calochortus tiburonensis). So today I paid a visit. A kind young woman pointed out the best spot to see them to me, otherwise I probably would have missed some of them. For folks in the #sfba area, you probably have a few more weeks to catch them, in the Ring Mountain preserve between Corte Madera and Tiburon, not far from the San Quentin prison on the San Francisco Bay. #wildflowers #photography

I was at the local zoo / amusement park when I accidentally encountered this baby Anna’s Hummingbird on the ground. Fortunately there are rangers in the park who were paged to help the bird. One of the park staff members told me they’ll see if the fledgling can fly back to the nest. Looks like it already has adult plumage so I am feeling hopeful about it recovering.
