Hey! Help me remember this artist.
They created a mixed media artwork that used a vintage pen plotter (a Roland DXY if I recall) loaded with an audio cassette read head in the pen carrier. The plot bed was covered in cut strips of audio tape arranged in parallel. The pen/tape head would travel over and play random portions of the tape, creating a random access audio playback. I think I saw it on bird site years and years ago.

I like plotting with the 'Xtra Bold' Bic Cristal pens. Once you pass a certain density of lines and saturation of ink, the paper and ink start to interact in such great unpredictable ways.

Spent an hour convinced my pen plotter had terrible backlash —
it kept drawing a straight vertical line instead of a spirograph.Turns out I'd never latched the tape reel. 🤦

Does anyone know of a small crayon bot. Some small 20-30cm rig cnc that can hold crayons and draw pre-planned drawings? Like a pen plotter that you could plonk down on paper in the wild and press a button and have it quickly draw out something?
