2026 #introduction. Some things have changed since 2022. Some things haven’t. I drive Uber in Monterey, which gives me time to think — maybe too much time. I practice zazen twice a week at Monterey Bay Zen Center, walk mornings with my wife, and read The New Yorker thoroughly but I’m always about a couple months behind everyone else, which seems to suit me.
I have a temperamental aversion to the newest thing, so naturally I keep coming back to Mastodon.
Still trying to figure things out. Still big picture. Less impostor syndrome, maybe — or just more comfortable not fitting in cleanly anywhere.

Among many #Bicycling #Monterey projects that most people are unaware of is 1st example under Project #4, BICYCLING #EQUITY (scroll down our Summary of Projects page: https://bikemonterey.org/about/financial-donations/donations-some-ways-your-money-can-help).
Last week another #teen phoned us to make use of that project; today another teen called in same situation. We're glad to help. We salute these teens for not wasting their (or their family's) money on a #TrafficFine. Instead these #youth are "making lemonade out of lemons."
When #LawEnforcement officers deem a #citation appropriate, we appreciate #judges who offer an alternative to a #fine—such as the one we provide (see Project #4).
In case you're wondering: We appreciate #police officers who are into education instead of citation whenever appropriate.
