After a few weeks, when the corpse had decayed sufficiently to no longer interest the resurrection men, the mortsafe was removed. Ah, the end of the weekend. It was busy but OK. And I have some leave this week so my next weekend will start in two days (my colleague will be back, huzzah!)

Dad is out of hospital, yay! I picked him up yesterday morning and then went back in the afternoon to drop off some more stuff and again this morning to make sure he was fine showering. He's feeling much better and honestly looks better and much more well rested for having been looked after by someone else(s) for a week.

Even though there was a LOT of driving yesterday, I got to sit down with a book and a pastry and tea for a little while. And then when I got back from Dad's in the afternoon, I discovered someone had left a huge bag of German books on the doorstep! They were obviously for me but it was a mystery until this morning who had left them (one of 2's old work colleagues). I'm thrilled with them – they're in great condition and they'll be ones I can read without too much difficulty.

We got a card from Jarrah's vet and even though I was expecting it and appreciated it, it still made me cry. When I'm on holidays this week I'll be able to plant the seeds on his grave.

I have been craving lemon delicious so I found a recipe for a gluten free one and made it this afternoon. It was indeed delicious. It does bother me how devoid of nutrients gf flour is though. But until I get around to making my own, I'm stuck with it. And in this case, it's a dessert, so I should just accept that it's going to be sugar and not a whole lot of goodness. I added some cream to up the protein but of course that gave me indigestion, heh
