CW: Nzpol. Labour promises Data center and AI regulation.
Labour is promising to set up an AI office, an online safety regulator, copyright rules that ensure creators are paid for their work, and impose rules on data centres.
Combine this with Greens Policy on data centers and it's a huge step in the right direction.
PS. Reuben Davidson, Labours Technology and Innovation spokesperson seems to know his stuff.

NZ's soon-to-be-rolled PM can't help putting his foot in it. Stuff fact checks a couple of claims Luxon made at a public meeting last night.
* That he's the first person in his family in 5000 years to go to university.
"That would mean none of his forebears since the year 2974BC had been to a university. However, the first one only opened in 859AD in Morocco."
* "I call him the James Brown of MPs" -- Luxon compares Simeon Brown to the muso James Brown, who was famously convicted for assault, armed robbery, and domestic abuse.

Do Labour really want to remind us that it was them 80s that sold out into the neoliberal disaster that ACT so desperately want to continue destroying the country with?

One thing I detest about Winston Peters and NZ First is their constant immigrant bashing. My partner has worked as a health professional for many years in NZ and paid taxes and contributed to the country in many ways. She has an EU passport but has had permanent residency in NZfor over 30 years. She chose to keep her EU passport because that is where she came from. It is not possible to have both a German EU passport and a NZ one. Peters and his NZF mates are trying to do a Trump and score a few redneck votes by pursuing such negative and destructive anti-immigrant policies. Like the AFD in Germany, NZF is acting like a Nazi party.
