It's voting LABOUR that splits the left.
(not that voting Labour is a left vote in the first place)
Results from the local election in Birmingham on 7th May.

Also hearing there are at least 10 trans councillors elected so far today according to someone following the Trans Greens Instagram account, which is nice 💚
Apparently 8 are new and 2 have held their seats and increased their vote shares.

@thegreenparty And joy of doorknocking this afternoon alongside someone I first met when canvassing last autumn: she probably would've joined anyway, but we both remembered the conversation #makehopenormalagain #votegreen

My local Waitrose supermarket allows me to collect tokens every time I shop, to allocate to one of three local good causes. The charities change every quarter, at which point a first, second and third prize monetary amount is donated by Waitrose to the charities. This quarter, the charities include the local food bank and a dog rescue organisation.
Unbelievably and very sadly in my mind, the dog rescue charity is winning and the food bank is coming last. This seems wrong to me on at least two levels. Surely poor people who are struggling to feed themselves are a more worthy cause than homeless dogs, and what kind of country are we that needs food banks in the first place?

In the U.S. we voted democratically, but somehow still ended up with a king.
I prefer the U.K. where the King is ceremonial and the people you vote for are what counts.
