  1. Two charts from BBC News that tell a grim story about #NHS A&E waiting times...

    The BBC led on 12 hour waits 'becoming normalised', which may be true, but the key issue is to understand that while the #NHScrisis has a range of elements, the primary problem is pretty basic. The #healthservcie has been defunded, while its staff have be en insulted & derided, leading to staff shortages & a lack of resource.

    This is not an accident this is a #Tory engineered disaster!

    @TCatInReality meme coming..

  2. The #NHScrisis takes many forms... and #toxic management & staff relations is one (more).

    In a defunded, stressed #healthservice, with staff burning out & over-worked (due to unfilled jobs), we can expect inter-personal relations to become strained (to say the least).

    In this case, a #female #doctor was driven to take her own life, triggered by a delay in removing herself from a toxic work environment.

    Whatever the local issues, behind this is (still) #tory wrecking!

  3. More evidence of the effect of the #Tories defunding of the #NHS:

    we can agree that its hard to maintain a functioning #healthservice if the buildings & equipment are in bad repair or failing.

    One way to measure that is the expected cost(s) of meeting current required repairs.

    Those maintenance needs that expose the NHS to low risk have actually remained stable while those that offer higher risk of problems have expended.

    It will take years & billions of £ to repair the wreckers' work

  4. If you only read one thing on the #NHSCrisis today, make it this:

    Seven people working in & around the #NHS explore the scale & scope of the #healthservice's difficulties - they pull few punches & tell it like it is - this is powerful stuff & needs to be widely read;

    once you've read it please boost this (or your take own it) so as many people as possible can clearly understand what the #Tory wreckers have done in the last decade.

  7. The always excellent #THISspace2022 has begun with a great session on harmful incidents in healthcare. There is currently discussion about what that means for different parties, and how to respond better within restorative frameworks.

  8. Great to see new attention to this study showing unintended consequences to #FDA's Unapproved Drugs Initiative - also a great example of how #HealthServicesResearch can contribute to policy change, since the UDI was terminated in 2020, citing this work: govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-202 #HealthPolicy #RxPolicy

    ok, like half of the useful non-antibiotic #ICU #drugs are apparently #UnapprovedByFDA
