This part of the Fediverse is a bit less well developed than the microblogging part but there has been a lot of activity in recent months and I have every reason to expect further development (both technically and in terms of things like moderation tools and standards).

Ein kleiner Tipp, der das Leben im Fediverse leichter macht.
Ihr kennt das doch auch, da kommt euch eine Unterhaltung in der Timeline unter, wo ihr den Konten nicht folgt und das auch nicht vorhabt, aber "UNBEDINGT" wissen wollt, wie die Diskussion da weiter geht, aber auf keinen Fall eine Antwort oder ähnliches, da lassen wollt.
Dafür gibt es im Fediverse die Funktion "Beobachten"
Dazu bei dem post auf die drei Punkte klicken und im sich öffnenden Kontextmenü, auf das Augensymbol und Beobachten klicken.

Dlatego myślę, że warto zastąpić polskie tłumaczenie "Niewidoczny" na jakieś inne - lepiej oddające angielskie słowo "Unlisted".
Co o tym myślicie? Czy macie jakieś propozycje?

Be sure to use and check out #hashtags . They are the primary method of following topics on #Mastodon . In some forms of the site (browser is different than the app), you can sign up to follow hashtags. I'm not confident enough how to do that to advise you on it, though.Also, leave a space before and another after any terms you #hashtag for punctuation etc.

I just encountered a time consuming process on 🦣: a paper I boosted got published and I was hoping to replied to you original booted post so make the information continuous...it took me 30 mins to find the post only becus I had an earlier reply that contain images so I can retrieve from my media tool in #tusky, I had tried #tootfinder and #justmytoots neither of it helped me....and unfortunately my instance cannot afford #elasticsearch.😞 -

If you try and follow someone, and it’s an account that requires the person to approve your follow request?Use the private “notes” that you can put on their profile to note that you requested to follow them on X date , if they don’t approve it, you won’t accidentally request again and potentially annoy them!
(Since there’s no notification when someone denies your follow request)I say this as someone who’s completely spaces whether I’ve requested 😂

Using Mastodon becomes a bit like when you know how to use the 3-4 things needed to take pics with your DLSR - but then find a need and lo! it's satisfied in the users manual.
#feditips is the place to go for tips on how to progress from #mastodon101. There is a website with the detailed instructions.
At a certain threshold of use, having added many follows, there is 'make a list' to distinguish a special area of interest.
