Now I get it, the reason why I do not find my or others' recent toots on tootfinder.ch - the index is 65090 minutes, that is ~45 days, behind [as displayed on its search page]! And I also didn't know this: "makes them searchable for 3 months"
I will opt out of this, almost no usecase whatsoever. #tootfinder #tfr

It's been 0 Days since the Mastodon search capability has disappointed me.
I've had "Include public posts in search results" turned on for months now, but at least on my instance, it doesn't seem to find anything more than two days old. To verify, I've tried several words that are in toots from 3 to 14 days old, and none of them hit.
#Tootfinder appears to be down at the moment, but only covers ~3 months IIRC.

Hi @buercher. Now that #Mastodon 4.2 includes the option to "Include Public Posts In Search results" right in the user config, are you planning to use the *indexable* flag for #TootFinder, instead of relying on tags in the profile description? #FullTextSearch #Fulltext #Search

Um das Problem zu lösen, meine eigenen Posts nicht mehr zu finden, hab ich mich jetzt selbst auf den #Index gesetzt, bei #Tootfinder
Geht recht easy, hilft mir, vlt auch anderen, denn die #Crossover #Suchfunktion ist bei #Mastodon ausbaufähig.

Tootfinder indiziert alle öffentlichen Beiträge eingetragener Benutzer und macht sie 3 Monate lang durchsuchbar. Wenn Du dabei sein möchtest, trete dem Index bei.

You want your toots to be searchable and findable, then have Tootfinder index your profile.
It works and the best thing is, it is an opt-in option and will not be indexed blindly without consent.
