  1. @Tusky , is there a way to do quote posts (other than the obvious inserting a link to the original) in Tusky?

    Version 32.2 here.

Or @tealk , is it disabled on the local instance?

    Thanks a lot!

  6. Did you know that Mastodon allows you to schedule posts to be published in the future rather than immediately?
You can be forgiven not for knowing this, since the official web and Android app don't expose this functionality!
There are other clients that do, though. For example, the Tusky client for Android has a clock button under the text area when you're composing, that you can tap on to specify the date and time when you want the post to be published.

  11. @jorgecandeias Well, I tried a few other clients in the last few weeks because of the quote issue (which I miss having only occasionally). #Pachli gave error after error. The main #Mastodon app is not bad but it doesn't allow deleting notifications in the app (AFA I could figure out), so this becomes messy. So it's back to #Tusky for me.

  16. 4 Clients auf Android getestet:
    1) Mastodon-Standard
    2) #Moshidon
    3) #Tusky
    4) #Fedilab

    ++ Anordnungen, Zeilenabstände, Farbgebungen

  18. Is it time to ditch #tusky, I wonder?

Development seems to have stalled. I mean, soon it'll be a year since Mastodon introduced quote posting and the app is still only able to display it.

This may be a nasty consequence of accelerating the rythm of development of the main thing: smaller projects start struggling to keep up?

  23. @imacrea @bammerlaan

Or you can open several #mastodon accounts, each with with specific themes :

I use one to follow and share about politics (@unutao), an other one to spread OpenSource IT tips (@rezolibre), an other to share local events (@nantes), and this one to follow artistic expressions, when I just want to chill out. 😉

It's really easy to switch between those different accounts with some mobile apps like #Tusky for example, or with Firefox Multi-Account Containers on a computer.

  28. Pachli has basically been choking and lagging like mad for the last few weeks in particular. I tried using Tusky, with pretty much the same results. Both of those are on my mobile phone, of course. I haven't had similar problems with any other app on my phone.

The browser on my desktop isn't having that problem.

  34. I ran a fediverse server hosted on my mobile phone for all of 8 hours yesterday. On paper, the #HolosSocial app is a frankly genius inversion of the server/client structure we're used to.

Actually using the app is another thing. It's developed by the same team as the FediLab client, so AFAICT the entire UI and settings are the same. And from my experience, eight hours is about as long as I can try (and fail) getting the labyrinthine FediLab settings to work for me.

Maybe try a #Tusky UI next?
