Ich vermute mal, Konrad (alias ConnyDuck) ist aktuell der einzige Entwickler bzgl. #Tusky. Und wenn ich das richtig erinnere, wollte er sich schon einmal etwas zurückgezogen haben. Von daher könnte es schlicht an Zeit mangeln...
Ich wäre neugierig, ob man Code aus #Pachli in #Tusky nutzen könnte oder ob das Projekt sich inzwischen zu weit entfernt / entwickelt hat.

Well that sucks somewhat. I do have one of my #Pixelfed accounts on that site ...
It's one of these things on the #Fediverse. Unless you run the service yourself you're still ultimately beholden to whoever runs that instance since the data is on their servers. And there's usually plenty of choice.
Having said that, I do find that I get more problems with Pixelfed servers when using #Tusky vs most mastodon servers ... Still, I'm not planning to move of pixelfed.social just now.

@scottjenson I switched to #Pachli where quoting works already.
Main reason I switched was because #Tusky doesn't remember reading position in timelines in a reliable way.

Seems like there’s no really good Mastodon client for Android. Tusky is still using the outdated Material Design 2, which was introduced 8 years ago. Moshidon, while decent, has been quite unstable lately. it sometimes crashes when I try to post or comment, and it hasn’t been updated in over a year.
It’s not that surprising though, considering Mastodon doesn’t have that many users. I can understand why spending a lot of time developing and maintaining a client for it might feel like a waste of time and effort. -

# Social Media auf dem Smartphone? Nope, muss ich nicht haben. Daher wird sie später, sobald ich auf der Couch liege, gelöscht. Bis zur nächsten Reise. Dann hole ich sie vielleicht wieder hervor.

Does anyone have any interesting Fedi mobile client recommendations?
I'm currently on Moshidon, but I am curious what is out there these days.
I have not kept up with recent developments; last I checked, Tusky was still a thing, so I'm feeling old. :nice:
My preferences:
- Android.
- Free and open source.
- Will work with my GoToSocial instance without making me feel like a second class citizen to Mastodon users.
- No LLM-generated nonsense.
Unique recommendations welcome! I wonder if there's some truly novel UX out there that I'm unaware of.

Nutze seit ein paar Tagen wieder #Tusky für #Mastodon, das ich früher schon mal im Einsatz hatte. Schrieb ich vorhin an einem längeren Post und war fast fertig, berührte mein rechter Daumen beim Tippen eine Taste nicht richtig. Es öffnete sich eine zweite Tusky Instanz und mein Schreibfenster mitsamt des Textes war weg.
Ich hätte beinahe das Smartphone aus dem Fenster geworfen.
Keine Ahnung womit oder wie ich dieses Verhalten auslösen konnte. Ist mir bei anderen Apps noch nie passiert. Damit ist sein Auftritt auch schon wieder beendet.

Got most of my apps on the #JollaC2 now including #Pixeldroid and #Tusky which (along with #OpenCamera) makes it more usable use as a daily driver. Would be nice to have good narive apps for it at some point bjt this setup is good for now.
Will leave anything I use for work (Slack/GitHub) off it, and anything Google (Sailpipe for youtube is on there thanks to @flypig - hopefully that will get download support at some point for offline use)

I use Tusky, and have on many occasions wished it had a "save as draft" option, because if I navigate away from an in-progess message it discards it. Usually it's because I want to refer to some other message. If I am lucky I remember to select all and copy, so I can paste it back, but I usually forget :-(

Ich probiere ja immer wie andere Apps für #Mastodon auf Android aus. Die offizielle App ist in meinen Augen sehr einfach gestrickt, nur die nötigsten Funktionen. Eine zeitlang hatte ich Tusky im Eiksatz und wie weiß gar nicht mehr, warum ich danach doch wieder gewechselt bin. Kann man da eigentlich eine föderierte Timeline sehen? 🤔
Fedilab hat mich da schon etwas mehr begeistert, auch durch den Funktionsumfang. Was mich allerdings stört, ist der extreme Unterschied in den Schriftgrößen. Entweder stellt man die Schrift größer und dann springt einem der Text aber aus dem Display bei der Einzelansicht von Post's oder die Übersicht ist dann sehr klein. Vielleicht liegt es auch an meinem Alter und das die Augen nicht unbedingt besser werden 😂
Aktuell nutze ich nun Moshidon. Die Schriftgröße passt für mich und ich kann auch auf externen Servern stöbern, was zwar auch bei Fedilab funktioniert, aber da haben wir das erwähnte Problem mit der Schriftgröße. -

For an official #mastodon app it's a fucking joke for such a catastrophic bug to exist so long.Symptom: App crash and loss of long post.

#Tusky crashes *all the time.
Starting in June, and after using #Tusky for several years (for more than a year on #GrapheneOS) my so far go-to #Mastodon app has become almost worthless:
👉Almost all replies crash, when longer than a sentence or so.👈
I've lost dozens of posts and have become really irritated.
Please fix this ASAP. Thx.
