I use one to follow and share about politics (@unutao), an other one to spread OpenSource IT tips (@rezolibre), an other to share local events (@nantes), and this one to follow artistic expressions, when I just want to chill out. 😉

It's really easy to switch between those different accounts with some mobile apps like #Tusky for example, or with Firefox Multi-Account Containers on a computer.

Pachli has basically been choking and lagging like mad for the last few weeks in particular. I tried using Tusky, with pretty much the same results. Both of those are on my mobile phone, of course. I haven't had similar problems with any other app on my phone.

The browser on my desktop isn't having that problem.

I ran a fediverse server hosted on my mobile phone for all of 8 hours yesterday. On paper, the #HolosSocial app is a frankly genius inversion of the server/client structure we're used to.

Actually using the app is another thing. It's developed by the same team as the FediLab client, so AFAICT the entire UI and settings are the same. And from my experience, eight hours is about as long as I can try (and fail) getting the labyrinthine FediLab settings to work for me.

Maybe try a #Tusky UI next?

1️⃣ "less is more" y compris sur ce sujet. Pourquoi multiplier les applications (donc les potentielles failles) lorsque le navigateur fait très bien le job ?

2️⃣ #Fread une petite découverte simple et efficace ! Merci @gweeeen (dont j'apprécie les tips, ma première rencontre c'était sur une vidéo au sujet de la distribution #Solus )

Scoller ses messages devient un enfer, ca a commencé il y a quelques mois, et c'est de pire en pire: on scrolle, ca revient tout seul en arrière, et ca peut durer loooongtemps, je suis à deux doigts de la désinstallation de ce client :(

EVERY fediverse social app should follow their lead.

When I first started using Mastodon, I tried #Tusky but I quickly dropped it for the official #MastodonApp because I found it easier to use. However, I'm seriously considering going back to Tusky with all this unnecessary enshittification lately. First they shortened the search history, meaning I couldn't just scroll through pages upon pages of old searches like I used to. Now my bookmarks are unavailable, and I don't know how to use Mastodon without them, or rather, the way I like to use Mastodon relies heavily on bookmarks.

La app común de Mastodon es la más limitada, el tusky te da un nivel como mensajes privados y demás pero carece en la opción de citar, pachil y moshidon tienen todo lo que puedes desear pero carecen a la hora de notificarte, las notificaciones en algunos casos solo llegan cuando abres la app, la ventaja es que tienen el feed federado el cual te puedes enterar de todo lo que publican en el #fedeverso en ese momento en todos los idiomas a toda hora.
Por lo tanto me quedo con tusky que es un poco más avanzado que la app normal de #mastodon , pero más estable a las otras dos.

- und die Einrichtung der NextPush-App in Verbindung mit mollyim, tusky und davx5

für die Verwendung von Pushbenachrichtigungen auf Android-Betriebssystemen wie bspw. GrapheneOS beschreibt.

Ich nutze diese Konfiguration u.a. auf einem Pixel10a mit GrapheneOS.
Dadurch wird mein Akku geschont und ich habe mich erneut ein Stück unabhängiger von BigTech gemacht 👇

interesting observation (and perhaps an application flaw?)

I have recently bought Pixel 10 & installed GrapheneOS on it. then backed up data on my old Pixel 6 (also with GrapheneOS), including data, and transfered to Pixel 10.

while for banking apps, messengers etc. I had to log in again or transfer from old phone using app's provided functionality (e.g in Signal or WhatsApp), Tusky... kept both my accounts logged in. didn't even ask for 2FA.

Moshidon hat ein sehr schönes Interface, bietet aber leider nicht die Möglichkeit, den Fokus-Punkt zu verschieben. Tusky ist zum Ansehen der Bilder kaum zu empfehlen, Pachli ist qualitativ in der Fotodarstellung am besten.

Die App Pachli für #Android entstand 2023 auf Basis von #Tusky in Version 23 und nutzt die #Mastodon-#Client-#API, um sich mit Konten auf kompatiblen Instanzen zu verbinden.

Das Projekt wurde von Nik Clayton gestartet, einem Entwickler, der zuvor zu Tusky 22.0 und 23.0 beigetragen hatte.

Pachli ist ein Kofferwort abgeleitet aus "Pach" (von "#Pachyderm", vgl. Dickhäuter bzw. #Pachydermata) und der schweizerdeutschen Verkleinerungsform bzw. Endung "li" (weil Nik Clayton dort lebt).

Da Pachlis Entwicklung auf Tusky basiert, weist Pachli viele Funktionen auf, unterstützt etwa auch vorgeplante Beiträge und bietet die Unterstützung für mehrere Konten. Auch die Pflege des eigenen Profils ist direkt über Pachli möglich.

Naturgemäß ähnelt Pachli dem Klassiker Tusky, weicht aber bereits in einigen Punkten ab, etwa bei der Funktion zum permanenten Nachladen der Zeitleisten im Hintergrund.

...das, screenshots, ist eine der anderen Umfragen die immer wieder als Benachrichtigung durchschlägt, unabhängig vom Client - die ist seit 45 Tagen vorbei. Auch diese habe ich etliche Male gelöscht.
