Is there a way to have certain profiles' posts not show up on my home, but show up in one of my lists? I ask because I enjoy bot content, but lately bot content has been clogging up my home, and I kind of want to sequester it to a "just for when I want to see bot content" list rather than unfollow the bot accounts entirely.

If you want a fast link in #firefox to your mastodon instance without having to #login each time then use the settings in firefox to exempt the deletion of cookies for that site on closing firefox. Type this in browser:
about:preferences#privacy
& set under
Cookies and Site Data
the sites' addresses which you want to stay logged into. That way when you restart firefox & click on the bookmark for your mastodon instance in the bookmark bar you will not need to log in again. #tootorial #mastodon

On #Twitter, I loved the common practice of writing threads explaining new #preprints and #papers in an understandable way.
I uttered my concern that through the chronological timeline here people might miss interesting science. A solution would be to agree on names for hashtags and/or a.gup.pe groups to ease tracking these "paper threads".

Following tags were named more then once: #newPaper #paperThread #preprint #researchPaper #mastoPrint #tootPrint.
Also, there was #tootorial, but that might be a slightly different category?

For writing #tootorial, I’ve used the trick where the first toot is Public but the rest are Unlisted. The top post will be the one that shows up in followers timelines, rather than all of them in reverse order.

I think the Unlisted ones can be boosted by others, but they aren’t searchable though, which is a downside.
