Hey all you mastodon users, don't forget that you can "follow" hashtags and any posts tagged with that hashtag will show up in your home feed!
You can also "feature hashtags" on your profile page, which can be used to quickly find all of your posts tagged with that hashtag!
Lastly, using relevant hashtags in your posts makes it more likely that folks with similar interests can find you!

I want to share NotifyBot more widely and invite people to try it out.
It's a bot that lets you know when posts have been made to hashtags you want to follow. The use case is to make sure you don't miss posts with occasionally used (but important to you) hashtags.

Say a mastodon.social (for example) user searches for a post on a remote server, which causes mastodon.social to fetch that post to be available locally on mastodon.social.
If a *different* mastodon.social user, or even that same user, searches for that same post on a remote server, does mastodon.social just retrieve the locally stored copy, or does it query the remote server every single time someone searches for it?

Una buena regla de etiqueta fediversal podría ser:
a) no compartir para leer una nota si es de una web que decide bloquear el acceso a su lectura a quien no se registra en ella (o, en otros casos, a quien no se suscribe y paga).
b) compartirla, pero avisando que se está compartiendo una nota que lxs demás posiblemente no puedan leer.
c) compartirla, pero tomándose el trabajo de hacerla accesible de algún modo (https://archive.is/ es una buena opción, aunque también podría subirse a otro lado, pegarla completa en el toot, o algo que permita materializar el sentido de propagarla).

C'est une mesure simple de modération pour éviter le détournement de mes publications et le harcèlement. Je préfère interagir avec un cercle engagé et respectueux.

La migración entre instancias solo funciona si tanto instancia A y B están en línea.

He visto en reddit un usuario que no tenia los CSV descargados y sorpresa hace 2 semanas, de un dia para otro la instancia desapareció, el admin también y adiós el gráfico social...

"Why didn't I figure this out years ago department" stuff...
I tried setting some of my favorite accounts to "receive all notifications" and that was a big mistake! So, I've been putting those accounts into an A-List list so hopefully I won't miss any posts from my favs (without blowing my notifications up).
