Je suis ravi à présent de pouvoir supprimer cet alias et qu'ils reçoivent dans leur face un message d'erreur 😜
Bref, pensez aux alias quand vous vous créez un compte ; et si besoin, vous le supprimez si vous recevez des spams !

Hehe, clever me (not). I use Fedilab as mobile client, for context.
For couple of weeks I was thinking, why some my followers not posting, like, its servers went off or something, don't know.
Then today though invide my mind - what if they were all muted!
And yes, fedilab has poor icon buttons without descriptions and i was muting, thinking i was setting notifications for followers XD
It wasn't I was ghosting you all, I wasn't see you XD

Habe seit kurzer Zeit den Tag "GoodNews" abonniert (absichtlich nicht als Tag geschrieben hier, weil ich den Tag mit meiner Meinung nicht missbrauchen möchte). Mein Feed ist so viel positiver jetzt. If you want to use this feature, make sure that you are on a #Mastodon instance that updates fairly regularly.
My previous instance, for example, was stuck on 4.2, and the admin made clear that he had no interest in putting in the effort to maintain it further.
You can see your current version on the bottom of the web page. If the version is too old, you might consider migrating to a new instance. Sure, your old posts will remain on your old instance - but your connections and bookmarks will move with you.

#FediTip #FediHelp I don't know any languages apart from my native English, but I follow and enjoy reading several Germans whose posts I used to see here with a "translate to English" link below. I don't see that link anywhere nowadays. Don't know if it happened when I changed instance from m/social to writing.exchange. Don't think so, but I mention that in case it makes sense to anyone who knows more than I do about this stuff. So, please can anyone help me get those links back? Thanks.

#PROTIP for the weekend:
if you go to your Notifications tab and click the arrows icon at the top right you can expand options and disable notifications for boosts and likes
this way you can stop staring at your own posts with that fish-looking face while you read them over and over every time someone new boosts or favorites them...
you will be saving a lot of time, congratulations 🎉

Before you join an instance, always look at its about page (https://mastodon.art/about).
If you unfold the "Moderated servers" list and an absolutely massive blocklist shows up (like on dot art) that means that this server is suffering from extremely toxic censorship and you should not join it! On a typical instance this list is usually only 10 to 20 instances at most.
Also if you can't see the "Moderated servers" list, that means that the admins have hidden it on purpose. I suggest do not join an instance without this type of moderation transparency either! -
#FediTip most fedizens don't watch tiktok so if you dont know what to post on here you can just transcribe a funny sketch off there and nobody will know

A tip for those who might not know (or might not know how): You can curate your feed with #filters Filters hide posts that include filtered words. If you find posts about certain topics stressful or annoying, you can easily avoid them by filtering keywords that are usually found only in posts on those topics. Although some Mastodon clients don't let you make filters within the app, you can always make filters on the web interface. #FediTip 1/2

Excellent #Feditip here, both on the removal of inactive followers, and the warning about "remove all followers from selected domains".
That second is surely a useful function to have, but it needs to be NOT something you can accidentally do.

The thing about relying on content warnings to protect yourself is that it requires the cooperation and consensus of everyone in the Fediverse. More effective and realistic is setting up filters. I have a list of filtered words, hashtags, and phrases for things I don't want to see, and it keeps those things off my timeline regardless of other people's choices.

I feel a bit out of the loop with hashtags at the moment.
Could someone enlighten me what the current general purpose and biology/animal science specific academic hashtags are?Since guppee shut down, my feed feels quite empty.

Do not report content that you simply don't like.
That is abusing the content reporting system and wastes everyone's time.
It also results in me (as one of the admins) flagging your instance for us to basically reject any and all future abuse reports coming not just from you, but from your entire instance.
You have tools at your disposal.
Block/ mute a hash-tag if you don't like it.
Block/ mute a user if you don't like their posts.
Block/ mute US if you don't like the posts our users' make.
Configure your account to hide content that is marked/ flagged as "sensitive"/ "nsfw" by default.
But when you report something simply because you don't like it?
You look like a twat.
