Zuerst hab ich #LinuxMint installiert. Das war toll, aber in meinen Spielen funktionierte Alt-zum-Item-highlighten nicht.
Die #PopOS Oberfläche sah altbacken aus und hatte das gleiche Alt-Problem
Dann hab ich #KDE auf #Mint installiert und war happy. Bis nach einen Update der Discover App store nicht mehr funktionierte, und damit auch Updates nur noch über Konsole.
#Kubuntu hat Snaps die ewig luden, das hab ich schnell wieder weggemacht.
Dann hatte ich wieder #Mint mit #KDE, aber Discover war immer noch kaputt
Auf #Debian mit KDE bekam ich Steam nicht anständig ans laufen.
Auf #PikoOS das Gleiche Problem.
#Nobara lief prima, aber der Store ist textbasiert, und die Spaltenbreite nicht änderbar. Ich kann also die Beschreibung nie ganz lesen.
#OpenSuse kam mit meinem Monitor-Setup nicht klar und schaltete ständig random einen oder 2 aus. 😳
Oder entfernte jegliche Interaktion, zeigte ein Fenster aber noch an. Sehr Merkwürdig.
... jetz hab ich doch wieder #Nobara, weil es am wenigsten weh tut. Und ärger mich, das ich ein eigentlich gut laufendes System gelöscht hab.

Soo... ein langer digitaler Begleiter wird demnächst seine letzte Reise ins Thinkpad-Museum antreten. 🥲
Ich habe gerade meine Daten durch ne Linux Mint Installation platt gemacht. Das hat sich completely merkwürdig angefühlt.
Mehr als ein Jahrzehnt hat mich der alte Lenovo jetzt begleitet. Am Anfang kam er mit Windows XP und ner HDD. Im Laufe der Zeit wurde dann die HDD durch ne SSD ausgetauscht, Windows 7 kam... und blieb sehr lange. So lange, dass ein Upgrade auf Windows 10 hardwareabhängig nicht mehr möglich war. Dann kam Linux. Erst OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, dann KDE Neon. Zwischendurch erweiterten wir 2022 den Speicher, bauten nen neuen Prozessor und ne neue WLan-Karte ein. Und gereinigt wurde er währenddessen auch gleich mal.
Nun war letztes Jahr das Ende seiner produktiven Lebenszeit gekommen - man kann mit Linux Mint noch einiges machen auf dem Laptop, aber für meine Arbeitszwecke hat es nicht mehr gereicht. Bin bisschen wehmütig, aber das Teil soll hier nicht ungenutzt einstauben. :-)(@thinkpadmuseum ...hier ein wenig Lebensgeschichte des alten Laptops...)

Pleased overall with both the new notching system and 3 of 4 of the pictures themselves. Scanned at 1200 DPI and lightly edited in #Darktable (I removed a few dust spots, cropped, and upped the contrast very slightly).
You can tell from one of these pictures especially that we are still in a pretty heavy drought.

It worked!!! The rounded notches don’t look quite as round as I’d like, but I should be able to easily work on that. Might make the “5s place” notches square instead of rounded, to easily distinguish from the triangular notches…but as long as I know rounded is on the top and triangular is on the bottom, might be a moot point.
I can also tell I need to take a wire brush or something to get a few remaining burrs off that the rocket blower didn’t take care of. Easy fix. I’ll be going through and doing this for the rest of my film holders…it will make matching shots to my notes much easier without the futility of trying to keep track of the order I load on the reel in the dark bag. Especially when I bracket 2 or 3 exposures of the same composition.
These frames, from front to back, are numbers 10-7 descending. I hope to be able to scan these tomorrow, albeit at the mercy of my “real job.” I was a little nervous because it was hot today and the tap water was pretty warm, I calculated a developer time of only 3:15 but my effort to load and unload chems from the tank rapidly along with the rotational development seems to have been okay. These negs are uniformly dense, at least they look to be so when wet.

Die #Versionen der #Programme, die ich hauptsächlich nutze, sind in dem neuen 15.3 Release #veraltet (Firefox, Thunderbird, Libre Office)
Also muss ich mich mit der alternativen #Installation ohne diesen Paket Manager auseinander setzen.
Hat jemand eine hilfreiche #Anleitung für #Neulinge für mich?
Ich weiss, dass es anders läuft als bei Microsoft. Aber ich blick das noch nicht so ganz.
