@eugenialoli Yeah. No laptop is too old & slow for Linux. There's always a distro out there for any kind of hardware
I got a Toshiba laptop from 2010 just chillin with Debian, altho it's been a while since I booted it cos I've been using a 2015 Lenovo laptop (with Fedora Linux on it) that I use for Steam Link and for stuff when I'm too lazy to go upstairs and use my main Arch rig.
I did use the 2010 laptop when I had to fix and upgrade my main arch rig back in 2024 tho.
Man, I miss reasonable hardware prices. If this rig broke like today, I just dunno. I'll prolly be stuck using laptops again !

KDE Plasma 6 on FreeBSD 14.3 on my Lenovo ThinkPad T480:
- Intel iGPU working via i915kms ✅
- Audio working out of the box ✅
- Intel AX210 WIFI via wifibox ✅Power consumption is still worse than under Linux (3,5h vs. 5h+) but I'll try to optimize that further.
So far, I'm *very* satisfied with how well FreeBSD runs on the ThinkPad T480 :freebsd:
