Pleased overall with both the new notching system and 3 of 4 of the pictures themselves. Scanned at 1200 DPI and lightly edited in #Darktable (I removed a few dust spots, cropped, and upped the contrast very slightly).

You can tell from one of these pictures especially that we are still in a pretty heavy drought.

It worked!!! The rounded notches don’t look quite as round as I’d like, but I should be able to easily work on that. Might make the “5s place” notches square instead of rounded, to easily distinguish from the triangular notches…but as long as I know rounded is on the top and triangular is on the bottom, might be a moot point.

I can also tell I need to take a wire brush or something to get a few remaining burrs off that the rocket blower didn’t take care of. Easy fix. I’ll be going through and doing this for the rest of my film holders…it will make matching shots to my notes much easier without the futility of trying to keep track of the order I load on the reel in the dark bag. Especially when I bracket 2 or 3 exposures of the same composition.

These frames, from front to back, are numbers 10-7 descending. I hope to be able to scan these tomorrow, albeit at the mercy of my “real job.” I was a little nervous because it was hot today and the tap water was pretty warm, I calculated a developer time of only 3:15 but my effort to load and unload chems from the tank rapidly along with the rotational development seems to have been okay. I sometimes wonder if I'm getting "boring" taking as many pictures of trees as I do, but then I see some of my favorite photographers on Mastodon also taking a lot of pictures of trees so I feel validated. I love the way that bark looks on B&W film. My wife always gets a chuckle when we're walking and I say “hang on a sec, I gotta get a picture of this great big knobby bastard!”

More observations from the lakeside park. #FP4Party This roll (well, most of this roll) was stuck on 1/4000 shutter speed unbeknownst to me...so I did my first attempt at semi-stand developing. I was expecting these to be trash, but they came out surprisingly well. Stand seems to be good for when one accidentally makes, as my friend @shom says, “egregious shooting choices.”
