Wij willen namelijk geen laptop afleveren die niet 100% data vrij is met kans op mallware. Na onze #Nwipe wis software is er niets en dan ook niets meer te vinden op de harddisk, ook Windows en haar recovery zijn gewist. @the this keyboard ability, is something I've not yet seen in OS reviews but as I consider which distribution(s) to get, it's definitely a sizable factor, because even as I'm fine for now in using a mouse, I don't know how long-term I'll maintain that status, as my spinal derived neuropathy slowly progresses.

This is also the mainstay of why I'll be sure to have a full keyboard, to include the F keys, toggle & numeric keypad, because that should maintain my ability to use computers better long-term.

*My best guess is that I'll be fine for another 5, maybe 10 years but after that it's going to be questionable.

Hey #linux I recently had an idea for a #distro for myself that I wanted to make.

I need advice on this. I'm going down the #buildroot route but I cannot get the kernel to boot on my machine. On Limine it hangs on a black screen.

Should I be doing something different? Should I not use Buildroot? What's your advice on this?

I wanted to do this for experimentation purposes.

Been learning to use Pop!_OS and it’s fairly easy since I can look into things online and learn from forums. It’s oddly a lot easier than Windows stuff sometimes.

@nonsequitur I abandoned Windows as soon as it wasn’t a work requirement. Ironically, erstwhile #Office365, now #Microsoft365, made it much easier to abandon #WindowsOS.

#LinuxOS was my main personal OS for over a decade. Stability, efficiency (especially on ultra-light laptops) and ease of updating.

Now #MacOS is my main OS. Most of the benefits of Linux but much more polished. Interoperability through iCloud with iOS and iPadOS devices is excellent. Nothing else comes close IMHO.

That's what Canonical has been trying to do Ubuntu even making it available as default OS. from hardware vendors. Aside from the #snapfu they've done a decent job overall.

I agree that Linux needs an instantly recognizable brand/logo, something like a BMW. But Linux is more akin to branding all 4-door sedans 🚗.

Maybe #thelinuxfoundation can curate a #LinuxOS brand and logo as a direct analogue to Windows / OSX

Valve (Steam) are pushing Proton / Steam Play.

Devs support Linux more and AMD are improving their Linux drivers.

It is a mere matter of time when Vulkan (the DirectX hunter) is to become an industry standard?
