  1. I'm aready running Ungoogled Chromium in OpenBSD, and I just installed the Flatpak in Fedora Silverblue. I'm kind of happy to start out with a clean slate of bookmarks and extensions (don't have any at present).

    This browser will be for personal use — as a Firefox replacement.

    I'm pretty much transitioning away from using my personal gear for the day job, though I still have regular Google Chrome for that.

  2. Kevin Kofler withdrew his #Fedora 43 change proposal[1] which proposed switching from the #Xorg Xserver to #X11libre:

    Was willst du denn wissen?

    In jedem Fall wirst du ein arm / raspberry Pi kompatibles Image brauchen. Der Rest funktioniert dann nach Doku.

    Schau dir zum Beispiel mal das folgende Docker hub Image an, das ist recht aktuell.

  7. Oh, #fedora #Silverblue "and friends" is now rebranded to fedora Atomic Desktops which, yes, is a much better name to gather them all!

    @fedora uses #FedoraAtomic as the hashtag associated with it, although I find #AtomicDesktop almost even more appealing -- only making me ask, when do we get #MolecularDesktop :-p

    Upside about FedoraAtomic is ofc that there's no confusion as to whether to use singular or plural form and it brands it with fedora.

  8. Manual action needed to resolve boot failure for Fedora Atomic Desktops and Fedora IoT.

    Since the 39.20240617.0 and 40.20240617.0 updates for Atomic Desktops and the 40.20240617.0 update for IoT, systems with Secure Boot enabled may fail to boot if they have been installed before Fedora Linux 40.

  9. Just in time for the weekend, I've completed the initial work to create Live installation ISOs for Fedora Atomic Desktops!

    This is using the Live ISO support in Kiwi.

  10. Due to a bug in rpm-ostree, the '/etc/[g]shadow[-]' files in Fedora CoreOS, Fedora IoT and Fedora Atomic Desktops have the world-readable bit set.

    To fix impacted systems immediately, run the following command as root:
    $ chmod --verbose 0000 /etc/shadow /etc/gshadow /etc/shadow- /etc/gshadow-

  12. Bootc as a project is one with tons of promise and lots of community support. It's what is powering the next generation of Atomic Desktops, CoreOS, and Fedora IoT, not to mention all of the work that @UniversalBlue has done to show off everything that can be done today.

    If you want to follow bootc more closely, regular updates from Fedora's end are shared here. :)

  14. Time to formally welcome @bluebuild to the Fediverse!

    This is the project that makes it easier for you to make your own custom images of Fedora Atomic Desktops.

    If you've wondered how to use an atomic system while still being able to customize and tinker, this is another good place to learn more!

  15. Hmm.

    Given that #Invidious, #Piped, and others no longer work thanks to YT now requiring a viewer to be logged in even to view from the YT homepage or website embeds; and

    given that the @fedora #FedoraPodcast is, seemingly, only available via Youtube;

    How can I listen/watch it without giving up all my data to the Google #datathieves? Is the podcast available via normal RSS? Is it syndicated to other distribution channels?

  16. Hey #kde peeps! I'd love to talk about running KDE on top of @fedora #linux as a topic for the #FedoraPodcast! Reach out to me if you are interested.
