Also mal bei #hetzner den günstigsten Cloud-Server gezogen und losgelegt. Mit dem Nginx Proxy Manager über Docker und etwas recherche lief das Ding.
Meine Freude hielt sich aber in Grenzen. Nach Auswahl eines Videos wird statt des Videos ein Text nach dem Motto "no bots allowed" angezeigt.
Eigentlich wollte ich somit diese Meldungen der bekannten Instanzen ungehen. Wahrscheinlich war meine IP bei Google schon auf der Blacklist, oder liege ich da falsch? Für Tipps bin ich dankbar.
Vorest habe ich den Server wieder gelöscht, die Kosten des Experiments lagen somit bei drei Cent.
Das UI von Piped ist zumindest gut, da es nicht so träge wie das Original ist.

Projects like #Piped and #Invidious could natively support this and directly play the non-AI impacted videos.

К большому сожалению, ютуб в России близиться к концу. И я всё же решил сесть и сделать адекватную морду для #Piped

Я использую мета-фреймворк #sveltekit и библиотеку компонентов #daisyui Пока что я использую тему по умолчанию, но, естественно, нужно будет её поменять на что-то более уникальное.

По сути за этот день я сделал лишь вертикальные карточки для видео. В целом я доволен результатом, был бы рад услышать ваше мнение.

Думаю завтра сделать боковую панель и поиск.

Изменено: Собственно, про цели я не сказал. Цель быть не таким вырвиглазным как piped. Хочу сделать так, чтобы даже мой младший брат мог пользоваться.

Плюс в планах настраиваемая домашняя страница (т.е. ленты с подборками видео на манер ютуба 2015 года. Только можно будет настроить какой контент и где он отображается)

Weil es hin und wieder gern mal Thema ist, ein paar Gedanken zum Thema Links zu diesem gewissen kommerziellen #Videoportal namens #YouTube.

Hat man sicherlich schon mal gehört und möglicherweise auch schon besucht. Wurde 2005 gegründet und gehört seit 2006 zu #Google, also zur #Alphabet-Holding.

Nun ist besagter Betreiber bekannt dafür, bis zum Abwinken Daten zu sammeln und zu verwerten. Gehört dort zum Geschäftsmodell. Man will Geld verdienen. Das ist soweit nicht verwerflich... und kennen wir vermutlich von uns selbst. Irgendwie will man ja über die Runden kommen.

Nun sind YouTubes/Googles/Alphabets Interessen aber nicht unbedingt deckungsgleich mit den Interessen der Nutzenden. Wenn man nicht gerade im Knast einsitzt oder freiwillig zum #Digitalsklaven mutiert, mag man vielleicht die eigene #Privatsphäre und möchte da so einiges an Daten und Informationen für sich behalten.

Netterweise gibt es Leute, die sich darüber nicht nur Gedanken gemacht haben, sondern sogar aktiv wurden. Daher existiert tatsächlich #Software, die sich deutlich datenschutzfreundlicher darum kümmert, auf YouTube eingestellte Videos sicht- und anschaubar zu machen.

Da wäre zum Beispiel das #Invidious-Projekt, ein alternatives #Frontend zu YouTube und ganz nebenbei #OpenSource. Um diese Software zu nutzen, kann man sie auf einen Server installieren und eine Invidious-Instanz betreiben. Hu, eine Instanz... das kennen wir alle doch schon vom #Fediverse!

Eine Invidious-Instanz ist zum Beispiel #YewTube. Nein, kein Schreibfehler... :-)

Eine Alternative zu Invidious ist das #Piped-Projekt, ebenso ein YouTube-Frontend, was freundlicher zur Privatsphäre der Nutzenden eingestellt ist.

Um Links automatisch umzusetzen, kann sich unterstützen lassen... ein Beispiel wäre die #Android-App #UntrackMe. Der aktuelle Haken bei dieser App: Sie setzt momentan YouTube-Links auf eine offenbar aktuell nicht mehr existierende Invidious-Instanz um... :-(

Wenn man auf #Android unterwegs ist, kann man zum #Video-Schauen natürlich gleich auf eine alternative Frontend-App setzen, etwa #NewPipe. Alternativen sind etwa #SkyTube und #LibreTube.

Das NewPipe-Projekt bietet übrigens auch ein eigenes F-Droid-Repository, wenn man schneller an Updates kommen will... die hin und wieder allein durch Änderungen auf Seiten YouTubes notwendig werden.

Übrigens bedeutet "freundlicher für die Privatsphäre" gern auch "ohne Werbung"... ich erlebe inzwischen nahezu einen Kulturschock, sollte ich mich mal auf die originale YouTube-Website verirren... und schaue dann ganz schnell wieder via NewPipe... :-)

Zum Abschluß an dieser Stelle will ich den Hinweis auf das Fediverse nicht fehlen lassen... natürlich gibt es im föderierten Universum einen Dienst mit Fokus auf Videos: #PeerTube.

Ситуация с #Piped на #dc09ru:

• Бэкенд, запущенный на OpenJ9, стабильно ест ~260 мегабайт озу, что всё ещё больше остальных сервисов. Микросервис bg-helper для автономного получения токенов капчи BotGuard потребляет ~110 мегабайт. Итого 370M.
• Прокси для медиа, piped-proxy, находится в топе по процессорному времени, ~15 часов, сразу после nginx, ~18 часов. Проверка подписи запросов отключена, так что источник нагрузки на цпу не совсем ясен.
• Ютуб опять сломал нам апишку. Возможно, вы замечали, что сначала длительность видео указана как 0:00, ибо плееру не дали инфу, потом постепенно подгружаются потоки и длительность увеличивается (или не подгружаются). В пайпеде обновили библиотеку NewPipeExtractor, скорее всего пофикшено, я ещё не проверял.
• Спасибо хоть за апдейт NPE. Обычно в репозитории пайпеда вообще активности нету. Я понимаю, что люди занятые, но без регулярных проверок и багфиксов прокси к ютубу работать перестанет.
• Ютуб продолжает предпринимать попытки блокировки ботов, некоторые видео не загружаются с ошибкой "Sign in to confirm…", хотя bg-helper успешно получает POToken-ы. Теперь токен должен генерироваться не один на сессию, а для каждого видео.
• Подписки по pubsub как перестали работать давно, так и не работают, новые видео фетчатся моим скриптом по крону.
• Клиенты к пайпеду, в частности LibreTube, как перестали работать из-за изменений в логике проксирования относительно недавно, так и не работают. Метаданные типа инфы о канале или о видео спокойно грузятся, но не само видео — это только через кривой официальный фронтенд на Vue, там плеер умеет хендлить правильно.

Я думал о переходе на #Invidious. Есть форк от nadeko, где кэш вместо постгреса реализован через редис / кастомный LRU, и говорят, что там утечек памяти не замечено.
В бета-тестировании находится сервис Invidious Companion, который заменит микросервисы расшифровки метаданных плеера (inv_sig_helper) и генерации POToken (trusted-session-generator). Принцип действия как и у piped-bg-helper: выполнение браузерного JS-кода от гугла; так что это дело надо правильно изолировать, в rootless docker, например, как и сделано в companion. Функционал, не связанный с токенами антибота, реализован через библиотеку Youtube.js, видеопотоки теперь вытаскиваются через companion (JS) вместо основного бэкенда инва (Crystal), то есть мы пришли почти к тому же, что предлагал ViewTube — гениально.
Мобильный клиент Clipious — ну такооое, но мы ничего не теряем, ибо либретьюб всё равно не работает.

Никто, конечно же, хостить ничего не собирался.

Простите, я не хочу. У меня нет ресурсов на отдельный сервер под ютуб-прокси с механизмами обхода антибота. Как и нет желания админить эту штуку, поддерживать прайваси-фронтенд с уровнем сложности ракетного двигателя, который гугл ещё и постоянно пытается убить. Как и нет необходимости использовать ютуб: я туда захожу раз в неделю, когда мне скидывают ссылку на видео или когда хочу найти что-то конкретное. Не получится поддерживать надёжный аптайм при всего лишь одном сервере, двух айпи-адресах (v4 и v6, да, даже не подсеть) и нуле мотивации.

Oh, das schicke #LibreTube funktioniert inzwischen mit einem rein lokalen Modus ähnlich wie #NewPipe. Sehr cool, dass die App so wieder brauchbar ist und auch ohne leider ständig geblockte #Piped-Instanzen funktioniert. :yayblob:

Sehe ich auch so, daher habe ich vor einiger Zeit ein Addon für #Friendica geschrieben, dass Youtube Videos immer auf einen #Invidious oder #Piped Server abwirft. Damit musste sich der Nutzende keine Gedanken mehr machen.

Leider werden beide Projekt durch google massiv behindert.

@autonomysolidarity Abgesehen von meiner fundamentalen »KI«-Kritik habe ich hier noch die Schmerzen, dass es nicht so aussieht, als sei das Verhalten steuerbar. So setzt Google / Alphabet nun bei YouTube doch noch Persönliche-Daten-Zwang, Loginzwang usw. durch. Mittelfristig werden dann auch @newpipe , @FreeTube , @invidious und #piped unüberwindbare Probleme bekommen.

Und dann ist YouTube für mich Geschichte. @peertube darf bis dahin ruhig auch ein bisschen mehr Unterhaltung zeigen 😉 NewPipe erschließt uns auch andere Plattformen, und @zapp hat auch viel zu bieten.

The main feature of this release is the support for multiple backends in the youtube plugin.

It allows you to watch ad-free YouTube videos on any supported media player and manage your playlists and subscriptions through multiple YouTube implementations.

Earlier only #Piped was supported, but given the state of the project and most instances (all the ones I’ve tested, including my own, are still blocked by #YouTube’s new restrictions) I’ve added support for #Invidious too, and that’s currently the recommended backend.

The in-browser YouTube player now plays videos using the Invidious embedded player if you configure the invidious backend, so the UI can be used as a full alternative frontend for Invidious.

I’ve also added a new google backend that leverages the official YouTube Data API to search and fetch your playlists and subscriptions, but keep in mind that:

• It requires you to register a project on the Google Cloud developers console.

• It doesn’t support the get_feed() action (YouTube has removed the endpoint in v3), so you won’t be able to get the latest videos published by your subscribed channel.

• All searches and activities will be logged on your Google account, so it’s probably not the best option if you are looking for a privacy-aware experience (but video streaming will still be ad-free).

The youtube plugin should work in tandem with any supported Platypush media integrations (tested with media.mpv, media.vlc, media.gstreamer, media.kodi and media.chromecast), but media.mpv is recommended. The reason is that mpv provides the --ytdl option out of the box to leverage yt-dlp to download and stream videos on the fly, while other media plugins will have to first download the full video locally before streaming it (I’ve tried to implement my own real-time media streaming server, but I’m still not very happy with its stability).

I’ve always been baffled by the fact that there isn’t a standard format to export playlists/subscriptions across different backend implementations (even among alternative backends, such as Piped and Invidious).

As someone who has migrated through different YouTube backends and apps depending on the state of restrictions implemented by Google, I’ve often had to write my own scripts to convert CSV/JSON exports from one platform or app to a format understood by the new solution.

Since the Platypush youtube plugin exposes the same API regardless of the backend, it is possible to configure multiple backends, and write a small script that fetches all playlists and subscriptions from one and imports them into another:

Note that the simple script above doesn’t handle merge of existing playlists and items, but it can be easily adapted - if there’s enough interest I may write a small blog article with a more complete example.

The full changelog of the new release is here. Besides the youtube integration changes, this release includes the following features:

• Many stability/performance improvements for the music.mopidy integration - especially in handling connection recoveries.

• Support for ungrouped lights in the light.hue plugin.

• Added a new Application tab to the UI, which allows you to monitor all events and requests handled by the service.

• Adapted ssl layer to Python 3.12 (which has deprecated ssl.wrap_socket()).

• Migrated the kafka integration to kafka-python-ng instead of kafka, which is currently broken and basically unmaintained.
