If you're seeing articles about #chrome like https://www.thatprivacyguy.com/blog/chrome-silent-nano-install/, just be aware that #chromium in #debian (and #UngoogledChromium) removes this garbage (https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/pull/3676). Stuff like this is why I don't think the answer to "how do I get the latest software in my distribution" is not "Just use a flatpak/snap! Upstream Knows Best!™ "

@65_percenter How do we as end users (technical or not) make informed choices as to the security of a given browser?
Is Helium more or less secure than unGoogled Chromium.
Is unGoogled Chromium more or less secure than Chromium.
Is Chromium more or less secure than Chrome.
Is LibreWolf more or less secure than Firefox.
How do SeaMonkey, Waterfox and Palemoon compare to what their parent project has become.
All rhetorical I guess.

Ich sehe jetzt schon Leute mit Dingen wie fünf Kilo Kaffee zu Hause, die sie gar nicht haben wollten.
#ungoogledchromiumGoogle is rolling out new Gemini-powered features in Chrome for desktop, led by an “auto browse” capability designed to let the browser act more like a digital assistant that can carry out tasks on websites from a sidebar interface. In Google’s examples, the agent can navigate pages, click buttons, fill forms, and help assemble carts for purchases,

Mulla bugaa tää Ungoogled Chromium randomisti. Sekoilu alkoi muutama päivä sitten. Tekstejä ja palikoita välkkyy, kun kirjoitan jotain. Häiritsee todella paljon.
Mun pitää ehkä palata takaisin Braven pariin. :|

Installing ungoogled-chromium-bin on Gentoo turned out to be very straightforward. Just as adding the Librewolf repo is btw. Recently I've been moving all browser installs over to these two. Both projects have been around for a long time and consistently deliver quality.

Since yesterday I want to give another try to #UngoogledChromium
I imported my #Firefox bookmarks into Ungoogled-Chromium and I use the excellent software @floccus to backup my bookmarks and tabs.
For the moment, it’s a good move. Everything runs smoothly. -

I had one of the first #Reddit accounts (#33), up until last autumn, just before it turned 20, my account got shadow banned. I never got even the slightest answer or support from Reddit.
2 days ago I followed a link to Reddit on my #OpenBSD machine with ungoogled-chromium. Reddit showed me a "network security" message. I then got the message that I've been perma-banned for "breaking the rules".
My violation was repeatedly accessing Reddit with #ungoogledchromium from OpenBSD.
