Installed FedoraIOT baremetal, just to kick the tyres an with immutable/atomic before I try it on something like my daily driver.

Man, #fedoraatomic doesn't suffer this fool. Not sure if it's #podman , #systemd or #selinux but what usually takes a few minutes with docker has me stuck on a hamsterwheel trying to figure out what I fucked up.

Also, vi is the default editor? I feel like I'm in an alternate reality where #Fedora kinda sucks. I must've installed nano so long ago I don't remember

Jetzt sitzen wir hier grade und setzen Bazzite bei der Holden auf, was ja auf Silverblue, einer Atomic Distro, basiert.
Ich hab mich damit ja auch noch nicht auseinandergesetzt. Wollten AutoFS einrichten füs NAS. Geht nur unter /var, nicht unter /mnt oder /media.

Das Internet ist da aber auch nicht gerade mit Hülle & Fülle an Informationen gespickt 😬

Friends, I've now had my computer malfunction twice in relation to sleep mode. Monitors went rainbow static when the computer was going to sleep and wouldn't recover until hard reset. Did a system update and it went back to sleep a few hours later and it hung on attempt to wake up and gave me black screens until hard reset. Unplugged the monitors from the gpu didn't fix. So! A weekly drive of yee old #Fedora :) That is, first I did workstation, then I did #FedoraAtomic with #Cosmic - because I can.

#Btrfs home subvolume allows this by making it so I don't have to reinstall a damn thing :)

In any case, it's great! GNOME 48 is pretty sleek, though on my machine COSMIC ran better - albeit on a 2013 2 core i5... but yeah, GNOME "felt" more responsive :3

Now I return to #NixOS because I kind of feel naked without it 😭

I'm on #NixOS now and the idea of going from #nix to lix intrigues me. It's just a change of the underlying tooling that interacts with the nix store, but I'm fascinated by the idea that you can compose NixOS using whatever tooling that works with it.

The nix store is then fully decoupled from nix and nixpkgs, making it more a competing standard against #ostree.
