FlatHub is starting to remind me of Snap.
I’ve tried reporting a few issues, but no one ever seems to pay any attention.
For example, Hüma Browser was discontinued a years ago, and the URL that FlatHub lists as the project’s homepage now redirects to a phishing site.
I don’t think anyone is monitoring their community forums. My account is still pending approval — Discourse forum software’s classic “you posted too soon after joining” issue.

I've added an #MCP server into #snapd to learn a little bit about this. I think it's very interesting what #LLMs can do and this has certainly taught me a lot.
You can play with this locally by building the snap or the classic package and installing on your system then enabling the 'mcp' experimental flag with:
snap set system experimental.mcp=true

Ubuntu stellt aktualisierte snapd-Pakete bereit, die die Schwachstelle ausbessern. Für Ubuntu 24.04 LTS löst snapd 2.73+ubuntu24.04.1 das Problem, in 25.10 snapd 2.73+ubuntu25.10.1, in der derzeit in Entwicklung befindlichen 26.04 LTS (Dev) hingegen snapd 2.74.1+ubuntu26.04.1; im Upstream von snapd sind Versionen ab 2.75 fehlerbereinigt. Auch, wenn ältere Ubuntu-Versionen von 16.04 bis 22.04 LTS in der Standardeinstellung nicht verwundbar sind, empfiehlt Qualys die Installation der aktualisierten snapd-Pakete.

My colleague Maciej is working on preparing #snapd for submission into #openSUSE Factory. There's a very long standing thread from security review at https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1127368#c35 and, after a few years, we believe we've provided all the changes that were originally requested.
Snapd is many things but one of the key properties is a strong desire to build an ecosystem founded on strong security principles. The path to the summit is long and winding but we make progress every day.

I just released #snapd 2.71-1 into #Debian unstable. I will garden the BTS which has been somewhat neglected, apologies for that. I hope one day Debian will grow a basic web interface for bug tracking that does not involve sending email to make state changes.
The generation after me shuns IRC but I'm the generation that's definitely not in love with email. When I'm not on another planet that is light-minutes or light-years away, I want to use a synchronous interface.

Some how I am very envious of the 60MB RAM footprint while booting into a #linode #vps. The best I could get onto my #homelab is 300MB usage on a #Ubuntu cloud image. This is unfortunately the same as my desktop #ArchLinux with #KDE running.
The Ubuntu server image idled at 600MB RAM usage with #docker & #sshd. The culprits using most ram are #snapd & #multipathd.

If you're not interested in the meltdown in U.S. politics then do come along and see my super-cool #snapd integration test system where a number of snaps are smoke-tested on several different distributions. The whole thing is set up such that you can run the same tests locally and they are representative of what real users would see.

@heroiclauncher how can updates to a 160GB game take 140GB? Ouch.
Speaking of which. From my #snapd maintainer point of view, I think that finding an efficient algorithm for updates, on the order of O(n) where n is the size of delta for both network and disk IO required and extra disk space required, is still an unsolved problem.
Many updater programs are inefficient at upgrades of huge packages or can only do delta updates at a file granularity which may not work of certain payloads.

Ah, #snapd packaging is such a sucky invention.
So it's supposed to work on all kinds of Linux. As long, it's the right version of Ubuntu. ("You can chose any color you like, as long it's black. You have the choice!")
Ah, and then, it's genius. Try to restart the whole snapd subsystem without rebooting your system. My online search found nothing.
Somebody should be put to traditional Catholic punishments for this pain.

I found a photo from 2016 just as snapd shipped in Ubuntu 16.04. We just got the camera interface to work and I was doing a demo while sitting in a restaurant with my family. I remember how happy I was that VLC snap was working and that camera mediation was merged and provably worked in vlc as a camera viewer :-)
