Wow, I wrote in to the #Debian backports mailing list asking about a backport of a more recent version of #darktable to #Trixie, and now a week later it has arrived 😁

Any #photographer running #DebianStable and using @darktable you can now upgrade to 5.4.1! I was using the #appimage since my database was from a newer version than the one in stable, but now I can be back on Debian native packages 👌

Das Flatpak macht dabei zunächst mal genau das, was der Grund ist, dass Leute keine Debian-Pakete mehr verwenden wollen: Es beschwert sich über irgendwelche fehlenden Runtimes und ähnliches.

Das behebe ich als Nerd, woraufhin Flatpack etwa 1GB an Runtime-Gedönse runterlädt. Genauso schlecht wie Windows eben.

Dann kann ich nicht auf die Kamera zugreifen. „Fehler beim Zugriff auf die Kamera”. Ich versuche irgendwas mit Flatpak Permissions und scheitere.

Das schöne an #Linux ist, man muss nicht alles installieren.

Ein #AppImage kannst Du einfach Downloaden und in ein Ordner packen.

Meiner heißt Programme.

Die #Freecad Datei machst Du dann ausführbar.

Mit einem Klick auf die Datei startet das Programm ohne eine Installation aber je nach Distribution mit einem Eintrag im Programmordner oder Menüleiste.

Beide Freecad laufen dann parallel nebeneinander.

Die alte Version kannst Du dann über den Paketmanager runter werfen.

I agree on the fact that using third-party builds imposes a risk. Unfortunately, Signal has not been very #MobileLinux friendly. But I think things are getting better and better. There is als an official #appimage in the making. Not sure if it will run on arm64 though.

يسرّنا الإعلان عن أول إصدار مستقر من GT-DAYN، أداة إدارة الديون والمصاريف المصممة خصيصًا للمستخدمين العرب. هذه النسخة تعمل بشكل مستقل تمامًا على أنظمة Linux.

• إدارة شاملة للديون: تتبع الديون "لي عند" و"عليّ" مع إمكانية إضافة دفعات وجدولتها.

2. الإستخدام المحلي بدون أنترنت

هذه النسخة عبارة عن ملف AppImage، وهو نمط تطبيقات محمولة تعمل بدون تثبيت.

1. تحميل الملف: GT-DAYN-1.0.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage
2. جعله قابلاً للتنفيذ: افتح الطرفية في مجلد التحميل ونفّذ الأمر:

       chmod +x GT-DAYN-1.0.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage
       ```

3. تشغيل البرنامج: انقر نقرًا مزدوجًا على الملف أو شغّله من الطرفية:

       ./GT-DAYN-1.0.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage
       ```

📌 ملاحظة: للتثبيت في النظام وإضافته لقائمة التطبيقات، يمكنك استخدام Gearlever (المتاح عبر Flathub) الذي يدير تطبيقات AppImage بسهولة.

📦 محتوى الحزمة

الملف النهائي (بحجم تقريبي 85 ميغابايت) يضم كل شيء:

• واجهة المستخدم الكاملة (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Maintenant quand on utilise #Mageia, on ne doit pas trop s'y connaître en #Guix #Arch #Gentoo ou #BSD. Je peux donc comprendre ta méconnaissance des joies de la compilation ./configure make et sudo make install et le Oops qui vient ensuite ou pendant car il manque une foutue librairie. Non, c'est pas bien les trucs faciles, sûres et pratiques.

Recently I was dealing with #appimagetool in #forgejo workflow, because I need to build also #aarch64 #appimage on x86_64 host I have opted to user #podman with qemu-static (--platform linux/arm64) and here us the catch. qemu-static expects dynamically build executable, but appimagetool is statically build. This fails spectacularly also --appimage-extract-run will not work. But don’t worry, there is allways the way.

Kawai-Focus 2.1: переезд на новый стек

В данной статье я попытаюсь переписать часть приложения Kawai-Focus на стек: FastAPI + Vue.js + Tauri + Ionic . Также я соберу приложение только с экраном «Таймеры» под Linux в AppImage, которое подойдёт для большинства Linux-дистрибутивов. Реализация одного экрана не будет слишком долгим процессом, а финальная сборка приложения позволит оценить сложность и удобство полного цикла разработки. Эта cтатья не будет подробным гайдом, так как размер переписанного кода и его описание слишком велики для одной статьи. Однако я покажу часть кода проекта и расскажу о выбранном стеке, а также о трудностях и преимуществах, с которыми я столкнулся в процессе переписывания проекта. Я буду использовать часть кода старого проекта, который не касается Kivy и KivyMD, поэтому его душа не умрёт, а обновится. Заваривайте чай, доставайте вкусняшки — пора «старый стек превращать в удобрение для новых помидор»! 🍅
