So, i have to reinstall #fedora. Don't get me wrong; I've been using the same installation since #fedora37. Since i'm unable to fix this bug, and it is likely to be my fault, i'm really happy how long this installation worked out.
Installing #FedoraSilverblue this time :)

Today was update day for me. #Fedora37 -> #Fedora38
I always like to wait a few weeks to make sure all third party package repos had time to update as well. Worked flawlessly!

I also had to swap out i3lock for swaylock, and I had some problems with pavucontrol, which worked fine on #fedora37. Had some sort of hang requiring a hard reboot, not sure what happened there.

Finally decide to figure out what's wrong.

After 30 minutes of jumping between #Blender versions 2.93 LTS to 3.3, 3.4.1, I figured Blender crashes if I run the Flatpak builds of 3.4.1, the repo builds but not the tar ball from the site.

Blender is now working!~

Unter #Linux #Fedora37 verursacht das #kernelupdate 6.0.16 mitunter einen Freeze beim Booten. Wahrscheinlich hängt das mit cifs mounts in der fstab zusammen
Mit:
excludepkgs=kernel*-6.0.16-300.fc37.x86_64
in:
/etc/dnf/dnf.conf
kann man das Update erstmal blocken.

So gut auch das Passwort Programm #KeePassXC auch ist, aber unter #Fedora37, #GNOME43 und bei meinen 4K Monitor ist das Schriftbild einfach zu klein ☹️ Das nutzen wir hierbei einfach zur Qual. KeePassXC ist ein Qt Programm und ich finde nicht den Schalter um die Schriftgröße zu ändern. Idee?

And, to complete the world's most boring thread... Fedora 37 is now installed and everything looks great. MATE is there. All my apps are there. VMs look great. ZFS is working. Samba is up.

I update my workstations in step with current, but was, for some reason, more nervous about my server. Painless.

Question for the room:

I have a server running Fedora 35. Safe to go from 35 right to 37? Should I step through 36? Should I just wipe and reload?

I'm 100% prepared to do a clean install, just wondering if this is easier, or possibly more fun 😅

It's for my homelab, so it's not exactly mission critical.

I #upgraded my system to #Fedora37 overnight.

For me it takes a long time and that’s why I let it run while I’m sleeping. Surely there should be a way of upgrading the core system (kernel, libraries and drivers) and then all the non-essential user programs later at one’s leisure?

What's the status of #flatpacks on #Fedora37 ?
Listening to Linux unplugged and it doesn't look good. At work at the moment, will have to check later.

Installed Fedora 37, using UTM, on my Mac. Excellent to see how easy that was, and how many packages are just ready.

MATE Desktop installed. Reboot. Easy.

This can only mean one thing: I have no option but to upgrade my Fedora 35 server. I love to see another great release, but it always makes me wonder if I really am crazy for using Fedora as my bare metal server OS. Time to do some ZFS installation testing!
