"Woman Pulling Giant Aubergines from a Tree," Unknown Artist, probably Bengali, 19th century.
Here we have a watercolor done in the Kalighat style, from an area of the Bengal region of India....but it's unclear if this is actually from there or only done in the style. There's no provenance on this work and the identity and nationality of the artist are unknown.
Still...gardeners are harvesting their yields now, so this whimsical image is appropriate.

Some more hasselback aubergine action, this time from Star Infinite Food - the recipe isn't listed on her website so I'll paste it here:
"HASSELBACK TOMATO-BUTTER EGGPLANT WITH BASIL & FETA! Guyssss this might be the best thing I have eaten in weeks!"
Eggplant:
1 medium eggplant
Salt
Olive oil
1/2 cup basil leaves
1/3-1/2 cup fetaFor the butter (you will not need all of this, but you do not want to have too little):
6 tbsp softened butter
6 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepperToppings:
Sunflower seeds
Feta
Chopped basil1️⃣Preheat the oven to 425.
2️⃣Make the butter. Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix to make a paste. If it is not combining, heat in the microwave for 15 seconds.
3️⃣Place the eggplant on a cutting board with two chopsticks on either side of the eggplant halves and make thin slices throughout. Repeat for the second half.
4️⃣ Make the eggplant. Drizzle some olive oil on the bottom of an oven safe pan. Open the eggplant into a fan, add some salt, then add a smear of the butter to each layer. Next, add basil leaves throughout, every 3-4 layers. Repeat with the feta cheese. Place each half next to each other on the pan, then cover and bake for 35 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375 and cook another 20-25 minutes, until the eggplant is tender. This may vary depending on the thickness.
5️⃣Top with the basil, feta and sunflower seeds. -

"Boranis are vegetable salads – often made with leafy greens such as spinach, or with aubergine slices, as here – covered with a seasoned yoghurt sauce. They are loved from Turkey to Iran to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Chopped tomatoes or a tomato sauce may be added and that is what I have done. The two sauces make for a gorgeous, mouthwateringly good dish."

A wee before-and-after of roasted aubergines (and some lesser vegetables) adding homemade Za'atar spice mix.
It's cumin, coriander and sesame seeds which are toasted and then ground before adding thyme and sumac. Equal measures of everything depending how much you want to make and then a smidge of chilli flakes at the end.

I added prompt caching to my Anthropic Batch API workflow. The hit rate was 0%.
Each model has a minimum cacheable token count — 4,096 for Haiku 4.5. If your cache_control block is below that, the API silently ignores it. Successful response, zero cache reads, no warning.
My IAB taxonomy prompt was 1,064 tokens. Well under the threshold.

Dat er mensen zijn die helemaal geen groente lusten, dat heb ik eigenlijk nooit gelooft. Dat je voorkeuren hebt wel. Het smaakpalet is erg divers en afhankelijk van welk deel van de plant je eet (en van de bereidingswijze). Dat zie je mooi weergegeven op de illustratie hieronder.
Welk deel van de plant aten jullie vandaag? Ik at de vrucht, knol en de wortel. (pompoen, aubergine, knolselderij en wortel). -
La surprise de porc marinée au miso avec son chou braisé, choucroute, et sa pauvre demie-grenaille de Ré (😞😞😞), abricots/poivrons. Au fond, l’aubergine tigrée fumée, tomates, courgettes, basilic. Effectivement, le rosé macéré local tient bien le miso (une reco @funambuline, fréquentez-là) : Eglantine, Domaine Laurens, 2021 (Marcillac, AOC). Le piège technique était donc d’éviter le rosé du Var, probablement trop léger. #CaféBras
