  1. Some balcony garden photos as I did a video for patrons this month, and have a bunch of unused photos clogging up my queue. It’s very green, windy and spring-like out there. Need to thin the over-productive fruit.

  2. One of two large planters that I scattered mixed food plant seeds into. I didn't expect many to sprout because they were all really old & weren't stored properly. To my surprise, thousands of the seeds sprouted. I will be starting to thin out seedlings, tomorrow morning, if it's not raining.

  3. Let me be the devil on your shoulder and tell you that it’s okay to do a bad job sometimes. Container too small, too many plants, not enough dirt. Still harvesting lots and lots every day! Remember this is for fun! allforgardening.com/1760255/le #ContainerGardening

  4. Today is seedling thinning day.

I over planted because I'm never guaranteed of germination rates, which means that there are some things I have way too many of, and some things only one of them sprouted.

I also planted extras of the micro-dwarf tomatoes because I feel like everybody who has even just a little bit of space and enough sunshine, should be growing them. So I have some for my aunt's balcony, I have some for @adub and a couple other people, plus mine.

I think those are the first ones I'm going to transplant. It is definitely not the time to put it them outside yet, so I don't know if I'm going to hand them off to people yet unless they promise to keep them indoors until the May 2-4 weekend.

I'm still looking for a true brown micro-dwarf cherry to go with Orange Hat, Rosy Finch, House, and Blaue Zimmertomate. I found a couple of American seed sellers with what looks to be a true brown, but I don't think I can get them across the border. 😞

Anywho, I can tell which ones are my favourite tomatoes because some of them, even though there are plenty to share, I just don't want to give the seedlings away. Green Grapes is at the top of that list. Though I have six or seven of those so I really should give a couple of those away if I want to keep many of the other ones.

(I know most people snip the extra seedlings off, but I always untangle them in put them in separate pots to give away.)
