Hawaiian chili peppers, Burpee big guy jalapeno, Red marconi sweet peppers, and 8 pots of replanted a week ago California Wonder sweet bell peppers. There's a full tray of 18 maximilian perennial sunflowers. The Detroit dark red beets are starting to come up too, some pea sprouts are visible along with most of the radish that are up, and most of the spinach and arugula up.

Yesterday... we had cloud, sun rain, cold, wind and not unforecasted hailstorm.
Perfectly normal #weather for London UK.
Obviously #Britannia is used to changeability and extremes.

We are growing our #seedlings indoors because the slugs are out and liable to munch through them.

Of course I have already sat in the #garden this year but at the moment it is mostly cold and volatile. Probably will be an overly hot #summer and hosepipe ban time ahead.

#Climate change due to the oily dinosaur fuels is real and I am walking everywhere I can. Obviously.

"Gardeners and orchardists are invited to bring their #seeds, #scionwood and #cuttings to share. If you don’t have any, come anyway! There is always plenty of seeds and scion to go around.

If you’ve been to the event before, you know that space can get tight at the start of the event. We encourage folks to join the event later in the day — we promise, there are still plenty of seeds and scions available over the duration of the event!

Community members and local seed #growers regularly bring an incredible variety of #vegetable, #fruit, #flower, and #herb seeds. We also regularly have over 150+ types of scionwood to share, including scionwood sourced from MOFGA’s orchards. We will also have limited quantities of #rootstock for sale. Custom #grafting is available by donation to the #MaineHeritageOrchard.

Other items for sharing are welcome such as plants, cuttings, #seedlings, hatching eggs, #kombucha and #YogurtStarters, #salves and other homemade items.

My back isn’t happy, but I think it was worth doing while I’m able.

The greens are a-popping this morning on Basement Farm.

Spinach are almost ready for transplant and the next generation of butter lettuce seems happy.

The rest of the crop was very dramatic yesterday evening because I had to go into the office and wasn't able to water them in the morning.

Taken with an #esp32 cam with #esphome and #homeassistant. Lights (intermittently 🤬) controlled via peanut plug. Circulation fan and exhaust fan are both reliable using switchbot. Random #ble sensor is sitting up high in the tent reporting temp/humidity to #bigear

Sunday the soil root stuff arrives and they go into little pots. The yellow 3 get ready for outside while the others stay here (gender permitting)

We are officially six weeks from May 1st, here in SE Wisconsin. That means 8 weeks to last frost.

I am absolutely thrilled to have started my plants as early as I did. It gives me time to get them bigger and stronger, as well as do a second sowing of anything that does not do well, or anything I want a second plant/second planting on.

This weeks goals are to get my 4-6 week seeds planted, and get some of my cold hardy plants outside.

On top of that, I have another raised bed to build (8x4x1), trellises need to be moved and/or placed, the ground needs to be mulched, and I need to finish weeding what I can.

Planting/garden/farm season is about to be in FULL SWING and I couldn't be more excited.
