Very good article on international philanthropy. The only thing I would add is that trust-based philanthropy and spend down by foundations are not by any means new. @StefR this is an old discussion or two different schools of thought around the question of who should have the power to funnel these available funds back into society- the #government or the #philanthropists and #charitable #foundations.I think that #philanthropy is the #better #choice, because it is not only about who controls the available finds, #philanthropy is an important element of #civil #society and #democracy, and it has greater flexibility to support wide range of causes.
