Many #philanthropists are backing away from climate giving. But one is writing very big checks. #MichaelBloomberg, the former New York City mayor and founder of #Bloomberg L.P., has announced $590 million in new environmental commitments in recent days. Some $285M will go to efforts accelerating the transition away from #fossilfuels and toward #renewableenergy at a moment when the Iran conflict is rattling energy markets.

Should missionaries have focused efforts on converting souls?
How can you pray for those in such a contest? Work to stop torrents of iniquity, starting at least with your testimony against it?

Very good article on international philanthropy. The only thing I would add is that trust-based philanthropy and spend down by foundations are not by any means new.
