"Garth Marenghi's DARKPLACE," broadcast in 2004, is one of our favorite surreal British comedies. A satire of Lars Von Trier's 1994 Danish horror hit "The Kingdon," "Darkplace" features many of our most admired actors, including Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade. #garthmarenghi #garthmarenghisdarkplace #darkplace #britishtv #britishtelevision #britcom #sitcom #surreal #surrealhumor #horror #humorhorror #horrorhumor #richardayoade #matthewholness #alicelowe #julianbarrat #grahamlineham #silly

i know it's got its issues. after 22 years (!), some things haven't aged well (& don't get me started on richard ayoade's steep decline); but 'garth marenghi's darkplace' is still a mental hug for me.

#GarthMarenghi and renowned horror film director #MikeFlanagan in conversation.
Marvel as two Archdukes o’ Darkdom discuss frankly and unfetteredly about their respective working methods, their preferred campfire-based sanitary arrangements and whose ouevre is bigger (spoiler alert - it’s mine).
This Skull-Flush is the event of a lifetime. Nothing in Heaven or Hell, and certainly on this bursted earth (outside the plumbing industry, perhaps) can compare.

At Eastercon we welcomed Stunt Liz @nwhyte to the podcast for the first time, and he brought an excellent tartan rocket! We discuss Glasgow 2024’s April Fool’s Day joke, before moving onto the Hugo Award finalists, what we think of Telford, and chatting about a lot of British TV. It's probably a long shot but if there's anyone in #Canterbury #Kent and loves #GarthMarenghi, I have a spare ticket to his live show at the #Marlowe #Theatre tonight!

We met our hero (and frankly the reason for our marriage) tonight! #garthmarenghi

Spooktober is an excellent excuse to rewatch one of the greatest comedy series of all-time, 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace', and there's no better place to start than Ep1, 'Once Upon a Beginning'.
The principal cast of Matthew Holness, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade and Alice Lowe absolutely nail the dodgy 80s TV vibe.

Holy wow, the first 8 episode titles for #StarTrekLowerDecks were just released, and one of them is "Parth Ferengi's Heart Place" which represents a very rare mainstream reference to Garth Marenghi's Dark Place! Can't wait!

New textual inversion: horror author, dream weaver, and visionary. Plus, actor.
It's TV's #GarthMarenghi!

Garth Marenghi, you probably know him from his extensive canon of chillers, including "Afterbirth," in which a mutated placenta attacks Bristol.

#GarthMarenghisTerrorTome by #MatthewHolness has the humour, scares & sesquipedalian loquacious vocabulary to keep us on our toes. The meta-intertextuality of the stories depicts how unique #GarthMarenghi’s work is. Whether it be dead-tree or audiobook form, I recommend the latter! #TerrorTome #BookReviews

A dark and stormy night of terror tales (plus some mighty spicy horrotica) with #horror writer and doomsage #GarthMarenghi and his #TerrorTome reading and Q&A at The Lowry. I laughed the whole evening but that was probably just the fear.

Monday or a Tuesday for a video? Yep. And here it is. I don’t try editing or visual tricks. I just try to mention some movies and show some post, if I have had post. And I would love it if anyone decided to like and subscribe to the channel 😀👍
