My reaction about British TV News Intros in 2020:

• BBC England (regional): Meh, it’s all same :SkadieMeh:

• All ITV regional: Some of them just all freaking same as all ITV news intros, and also for UTV (Ulster TV) :hehejojo:

• STV Scotland: I have no idea why it’s sounds generic :MahiruMutedA:, but it’s little bit similar with BBC Election intro nowadays :MahiruYes:

• BBC Scotland (Reporting Scotland): It’s sounds overwhelming and little bit energic :SkadieOk:

• BBC Scotland (The Nine): I love it, it’s really energic and I wonder if they made the extended versions :MahiruLoveSmileGundou:

• BBC Alba (An Là(The Day)): It’s another native Scottish langauge, but their intros like coming from Arab :SkadieOk:

• S4C Wales (Newyddion): It’s another BBC’s asset in Wales that airing in Welsh language, but their Newyddion intros is intrigue me :Maria_FacePinch:

• BBC Nothern Ireland/Ulster area (including northern part of Ireland) (Newsline): It looks calm and I might be love it :Maria:

How about their national news intro?

• BBC One (across UK) and BBC News (across the UK and International) (News at One, News at Six, and News at Ten, also general News for BBC News (also with discontinued BBC World News)): It’s identical and may not to be my favorite, since it’s airing the intros from early 2000s, when BBC World channel still exist (now merged into BBC News in few certain networks in every region around the world) and it drives me insane when I heard it too much :Maria:

• BBC Two (Newsnight): It sounds rocky and and blended with orchestra, I don’t like it too much :Maria_nn:

• ITV : It’s same as ITV regional, only News at Ten looks extended and more intrigue :Maria_FacePinch_Wide:

• Channel 4 : It’s pretty identical with Australia’s ABC National News in early 1985, and I prefer the Australia’s version than this one :Mahiru:

• Channel 5 : Too short, and might be sounds generic :Maria:

So, about me.

Like others, I set this account up in the wake of the purchase of the blue bird site. I've now flown the coup as of May 2023 (I think I got kicked off for not logging on for awhile). My original flight was back in November 2022 after the new bird owner got his feelings hurt over a parody of him and suspended the culprit of notoriety, I figured it was time to try out the leading alternative platforms. (Besides Mastodon I am still on Facebook, where the old people hang out.)

My bio pretty much sums me up. I am a Grandma. I have a Daughter who is an elementary school teacher, and a Son-in-law who is career U.S. Navy currently serving as a [deleted old rank] Senior Chief (promoted 5/24/23) on the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. Out of respect for my childrens' wishes, I do not mention my grandchildren by name but refer to them as The Grandies. I have a Grand Sweetie and a Grand Cutie.

I hold a Ph.D. I am an Educator. I work in Professional Development. I currently live in #Maryland just outside of #WashingtonDC in the #DMV area.

I am a huge 🤓 and can never get enough of learning, gladly tumbling down rabbit holes when a topic intrigues me. My favorite hobby is 📚(#books #reading ). I love sightseeing at historic sights where I can totally geek out. I am a huge #Anglophile preferring #BritishTelevision to American (I feel the writing is extremely superior).

I am a life-long Liberal Democrat with some progressive bents. I am an active, involved citizen.
