Drawpile development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/05/25/dev-update
After beta release last week, there's been some more development: you now get thumbnails for dpcs and dppr files in the Windows file explorer, touch taps can be assigned to more actions and a few bugs have been fixed.

Development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/05/10/dev-update
Mostly lots of bugfixes before hopefully a 2.3.1-beta.1 release this week.
But otherwise, the Drawpile git repositories have been mirrored to #Codeberg rather than being anchored to GitHub. Both places can be used to report issues and provide pull requests: https://codeberg.org/Drawpile/

Development update: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/04/27/dev-update
Last week was mostly spent at #lgm2026, but there have been several bugfixes, performance improvements and a feature to make the stabilizer more comfortable to use.
Translations have also been opened for version 2.3.1-beta.1, if you want to help translate Drawpile into your language, you can do so with #weblate at https://hosted.weblate.org/engage/drawpile/

Development update for the past two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/04/13/dev-update
More work on autorecovery, speedups for synchronized smudging, improving passworded sessions, removal of the pointless "block new joins" feature that's just a worse way to set a password and several other smaller features and fixes.
Translations for a beta release for the next version of Drawpile will probably open soon, since all the text changes should be pretty much done.

🚀 Wow, Windows 95 had defenses against file overwrites? That's as effective as trying to stop a meteor with an umbrella! ☂️💾 Meanwhile, the article drowned us with a Microsoft buzzword salad on a Dev Blog that forgot to include anything relevant. 🥗🙄

Development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/03/30/dev-update.html
Autorecovery files have a safety net size limit now so that idling in a session for days on eat doesn't unwittingly eat all your disk space or something. The key frame move locking feature should now be fully functional.
There's also several Android fixes and support for OnePlus stylus buttons, which also made its way into Krita 5.3.1 already, which was released this week!

Good article about the state of #AI in #development. The numbers are impressive, maybe alerting.
https://dev.to/elvissautet/2026-ai-users-vs-the-unemployed-3jk4
PS: so far I read 3 articles and think I really can recommend his #devblog. Good written, not too technical (often those details harm readability), a broad view on the topic, and supported by numbers.

Development update for the last two weeks.
Timelapses now support animations. The attached video shows that off, thanks to BulletPepper for providing it!
There's also several smaller improvements to the animation toolage and there's a new rotation tool, analogous to the pan and zoom tools.
Finally, on Android you, now get to pick the interface scale and between desktop and mobile mode when Drawpile starts.

Drawpile development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/02/02/dev-update
There's now a project statistics dialog that tells you how long you've worked on a picture and a way to make timelapse from within Drawpile. These features both fall out of the new project file format, along with autosaving.
You can also now assign canvas shortcuts to arbitrary actions. For example, pressing themiddle mouse button to switch to the eraser or undo.

Drawpile development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/01/18/dev-update.html
Mostly more work on the new project file format, which integrates with the new autosave/autorecord mechanism.
And also several workarounds for Xiaomi devices on Android that are shared with Krita again.
