Sadly, they have a hiring freeze because of budget cuts. Nevertheless I had great experiences and I learned a ton in this short time. They were really satisfied with my work.

- Safe command wrapper with shell=False and timeout enforcement
- Output parser for ss to find listening ports without piping through shell
- Popen-based scanner with progress tracking and kill logic
- os.walk filesystem auditor that flags SUID binaries and world-writable files

Command injection prevention in three rules: list args, strict input regex, explicit shell=False.

Day 14/90 Python Security: Built a network reconnaissance tool that scans multiple targets concurrently and identifies services.

The scanner uses ThreadPoolExecutor for parallel port checks across multiple hosts, grabs banners from open services, and matches them against known signatures for SSH, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, and database services.

Key lesson: custom scanners are worth the effort when you need structured output for automated pipelines. Parsing nmap XML is painful compared to returning Python dicts.
