Hi, I'm new at this whole Fediverse thing, but I'm um love with the concept of a RSS Reader! I would love suggestions of RSS Reades for begginers like myself, preferably Open source just out of principle, and would be wonderful if I could sync devices/accounts. I use Windows on my desktop and Android for my mobile.

mastodon, ¿qué lector de RSS usáis? lo he intentado con el integrado de vivaldi y no me gusta cómo funciona, con lo bien que nos llevábamos GReader y yo en los buenos viejos tiempos.
¿hay alguno vía web que nos guste?
si es aplicación y está para linux me puede valer también

@trezzer it does, "News Downloader (RSS/Atom)" and I'm using it with mixed outcomes. Some feeds don't work but maybe I need to debug them. I mostly travel with my phone, it would be nice to have all feeds available on KOReader&phone. I just found out #feedly does NOT cache articles for offline reading - that's very disappointing for an #rssreader . Considering self-hosting #Wallabag on #cloudron

This update gives a large performance boost for thumbnails, and also allows you to default open every post in the browser (among many other things).

Every company, organization, and news outlet should be required to offer a RSS feed.
Not doing so just perpetuates handing control of news flow over to the social media billionaire overlords.

With #QuiteRSS broken, I've been trying out #RSSGuard today. It's actually not bad at all. In fact, I would say it's probably the best RSS reader for news and blogs.
It falls down a bit with webcomics. If you opt to just show the description of a page, it will shrink the comic image for some reason. Akregator does this as well, and it's annoying.
It does YouTube reasonably well, but you have to do an extra click to see the thumbnail, which adds friction to filtering out shorts.

Loving the reading experience on Current, an RSS reader developed with the unique goal of no guilt, unlike email. Reading should be immersive and reflective, not a race. The serif font complements the brain, the size kind to these aging eyes. On the iPhone, the swipes and haptics make Current magical, like a dance. Kudos to @tg.

I have a web based RSS reader I worked on a while back and I want to work on again.
Here's my page using this code.
At the top left is contact info based on a vcard file.
Scrolling down on the left are my feeds.
On the right are feeds I like to read.
This is a plain text program with no database. To add a feed you add a line of text that can be copied from the feed.

Der #Indie-#Entwickler @tg hat mit #Current einen #RSSReader für #iPhone, #iPad und #Mac veröffentlicht, der die bisherige Logik des Genres in Frage stellt. Die #App setzt bewusst auf Ruhe und Klarheit, und richtet sich bewusst gegen das, was Godier als „Phantom Obligation“ bezeichnet. Letzteres ist das schlechte Gewissen, das entsteht, wenn man seinen #Feed-#Reader länger nicht öffnet und von einer wachsenden Zahl ungelesener Artikel empfangen wird.
